It`s turning out to be a great, exciting, and seat jumping book and i cant wait to get to the end.

Im finally done with the book and it was soooooooooooooooo good i wish i could read it again but time to move on.
The Girlfriend is about a girl named Shannon who convinces a boy named Scotty, that she just meets, to be unfaithful to his girlfriend of many years while she is on a trip. After Scotty's girlfriend Lora returns from her trip he begins to ignore Shannon to keep Lora from finding out about the things that happened with Shannon. Shannon continues to stalk Scotty and starts hurting the things most important to him until he gives in to her. The theme i noticed in the story was betrayal, Scotty wasn' ...more

Excellent entry into the series that tells the story of a crazed girl stalking a young man called Scotty. Scotty is one of the towns supposed perfect couple but when his girlfriend goes travelling for a week Scotty decides to play the field. He picks the wrong girl because after he feels guilty and breaks it off she refuses to leave him alone and begins stalk and threaten violence against him. It excellently written and is quite gritty and realistic. Perhaps the ending is a little out there but ...more

Again r.l. Stine writes a thrilling and weirdly entertaining novel. This makes people want to go back for more. This story follows a young teenage boy and his problems.

a boy named Scott is a great student,an Allstate quarterback, and a great girlfriend. The best life right? Well in the book, the girlfriend his girlfriend leaves for Paris and he stuck without a date for homecoming. While he leaves he meets a girl named Shannon and starts to hang out with her. Awful book I love point horror I have 105 been collecting since I was 9 I'm now 23 they were a huge part of my life growing up been re- reading the ones I've forgotten the storyline to. This one is good at first it has a good storyline but then ending is sooooooo rushed it literally explains what happened in a page and not in detail at all //** SPOILERS**\\ so Shannon's crazy and recently out of Juvy for manslaughter trying to convince her parol officer she's now sane but this detective thinks s ...more

The Girlfriend was a kind of a weird story. The book is about a guy who cheats on his girlfriend with a girl named Shannon while she is in Paris, France. Shannon then does whatever she can to get him back even if that means murdering somebody. I may recommend this book to anybody who likes psychopaths. The girl kills the guy’s pet snake and his new girlfriend’s cat. In my opinion, I would never want a girlfriend like that. This books greatest strength is its ability to capture the reader with it ...more

Not much to say about this. I seem to remember it as being quite good, yet this time I found it barely readable. There were things that I liked about the book - I liked Scotty and Lora's relationship, and the way they were different from your average teens, and I like the premise of the novel - but it was let down by Scotty being such a...well, I was going to use an alternative word for "cat" but I'll stick with "wimp".

In The Girlfriend, Scotty - the boy next door with the perfect life - has the
This book was so mysterious, it caught my attention at the very first instant. From the "Flat tire?" Scotty asked. "Yeah." She made a face. to the whole " I didn't kill Shannon, he thought." to the very very end. Those were the moments that made you think about all the books you've read paranormal,YA fiction and all of those, WHAT THE HELL IS SHANNON?!. Well, let me tell you shes a little cuckoo. Lora, I think is a selfish kinda of character, well because, she thinks that Scotty is her possessi ...more
I've read this book a while back, and it's definitely a favorite of mine. So, it's about this guy named Scotty, who has it going pretty good for him; he's the quarterback of the football team, has a rich girlfriend who is a cheerleader, he's going to a good college, and seemingly has the perfect life. However, all goes downhill when his girlfriend Lora goes away on a trip for a week and he meets this new girl named Shannon. He ends up having a one-night stand with her, but he doesn't tell Lora a ...more

Like a previous commenter said, I've read this for the nostalgia factor. I like to think that these stories are metaphors for common fears that lives within adolescent's minds. When you read a Point Horror book as an adult, it all seems so banal and funny and you don't actually believe that anything that is happening is paranormal or strange. Just kids being confused and going through puberty. "The Girlfriend" is bad in many ways. The stereotypical storyline of the quaterback dating the cheerlea ...more

"The Girlfriend" was definitely an intriguing book to read.
It is about a boy in high-school named Scotty who is dating an wealthy girl named Lora. One day Lora leaves to go on a trip and Scotty meets an attractive female named Shannon. Scotty has internal conflicts with himself over Shannon and Lora. Shannon flirts with him and succeeds in getting Scotty to be unfaithful. When Lora finally comes back, Scotty ignores Shannon in order to preclude Lora from finding out the truth. Shannon becomes h

This book is a crazy love story between Scotty, Shannon, and Lora. Scotty is an unfaithful person as his original girlfriend leaves to go on a trip with Shannon. As Scotty's girlfriend gets back it is confusing for him and decides to cut off Shannon, but it just messes up everything and it ends up ruining Shannon's life. I would recommend this to anybody who loves tragedy love stories
Synopsis: Scotty Singleton finds his hands full fending off a psycho girl who won't take no for an answer.

What I liked: The 'cozy memory' feeling this book gave me. I read this when I was a teenager. I loved RL Stine's books and read them constantly. Things have changed a lot since then but I still got a chill at certain points in this story.

What I didn't like: Honestly, I found the characters to be a little flat, even Scotty. It wasn't so bad that I was bored or even disinterested. It was jus

I really wish this hadn't ended in such an anticlimactic way, because I would have rated it five stars. I really enjoyed revisiting this book for the first time since middle school, but I had forgotten how much of a non-ending it had. It's always fun to go back to an old R.L. Stine book, though, and it's still a fun read.

*semi spoiler * seriously who doesn't love a crazy stalker book?! obviously it sucks that the crazy one is a woman, again, but I loved it anyway . the ending was kinda lol worthy. they just were like oh that's weird I had a crazy stalker! let's go back to life kbye

I'd say that this book is interesting because it talks about a boy that has perfect life and everything but while his girlfriend was out of town with her parent he went to ball and got a new girlfriend but his new girlfriend doesn't want to go away that she took it far...

I thought this book was absolutely fantastic, It was so interesting and easy to get in to. To start with the writer made her sound really nice, the perfect girlfriend! Maybe to perfect? She started to get nasty and a little freaky! My friend told me about this book she said it would be a good one to read... She was right.

I would recommend it to anyone that likes horror cause it swaps the plot around a lot and it makes you go woah! at the end not giving to much away though!

Although the end is so

I really enjoyed this book a lot. In the beginning it was a little boring but as you kept going it kept getting more and more intense. I didn't want to put it down. The ending of the book was nothing like I expected it to be.. so it really shocked me. I really like reading the, R.L. Stine's books. This was the second one I finished and now I will be starting "The Snowman," another one of his.

Perfect for young readers. I was a big fan of all of Stines books when I was a pre-teen.
This book could be for boys and girls but girls will enjoy it the most. Its about a teenage boy that learns that every action has a consequence. This book is one of my favorites because Scotty the main character gets in trouble. He has a perfect live and a perfect girlfriend until he mets Shannon. When Im reading this book, i cant stop. It has a perfect plot (climax) and you will love it so much.My favorite character was Shannon because the author explains how she is and i can infer that she is ...more

This story is by one of my favourite mystery/horror authors. R.L. Stine. I have read almost all of the goosebump books. This book is about a guy who has a girlfriend, his girlfriend leaves for vacation, and the guy misses her very much. But one day walking home from school, he sees a cute, petite, red headed girl. They start talking, but the girl soon grew over protective, and very attachted, as the story goes on, they find out the girl is actually a murder put into jail for 1st degree murder, b ...more
