I just heard Max Lucado speak at a local church. I had actually started the book before I knew he was coming and that is what made me want to hear him in person. He was a great speaker and I'm really getting a lot out of the book so far...

I loved this book. Everyone needs to read it! Helps put things into perspective. I loaned it to a friend but when I get it back it will be one of those books that I read when I need a pick me up. Just to read a chapter or two that applies to my situation at the time! Just what I need right now!!!!!!! Funny how books come in...more

This was a wonderful read. Max Lucado breaks down the 23rd psalm and does a chapter for each part. I loved how he explained stuff and made it clear and more relevant with the historical backgrounds. I was inspired by reading this book, Max does such a good job of being perfectly serious and yet adding little bits of humor to bring down the seriousness, but without ruining the mood. An excellent book.

Anybody who worries
I learned that it is pointless to worry and God gives you whatever you need for any situation. He will never give you more than He knows you can handle. Before I read this book I would worry about everything but ole Max puts it in ways that are easy to connect with and helped me worry less almost to the point that I am too relaxed which is better that being stressed out all the time. So this book helped me worry less.

It's incredibly interesting and I love how thought-provoking and encouraging it is. I'm reading a chapter a day, and then I'm going to read it again as a more bible study type analysis. It's disecting Psalm 23, which is one of my favorite verses! It breaks it down into smaller portions and makes them easier to relate to and understand better. Love it!!!

I got this as a groomsman gift at wedding, so I read it. It was an easy read, and it was pretty good. One part stuck with me, which is a big deal because a lot of times I don't carry anything away from books. Lucado goes through Psalm 23 and picks it apart a bit. The part about goodness and mercy following me, actually following me, hit me pretty hard when I read it. Good point, Max.

I always enjoy Max Lucado's books. This is a line by line analysis of the 23rd Psalm that really allows the reader to "own" the scripture. Sure, it sounds nice and peaceful when you hear it read at a funeral, but if you really spend time looking at it there is a lot more than originally meets the eye.

THis is a quick read, but packed with some practical tips for giving your daily struggles and problems to God. It was helpful for a quick pick-me-up. If you're looking for a deep, theological discussion, this isn't the book to read. But, for a quick break from life, and a good reminder to keep one's focus on Christ, it's great.

This book has been a helper for me when I felt weary and burdened. It reminded me that I should cast all of my burdens unto my Great Shepherd, Jesus.
Buku ini secara khusus membahas Mazmur 23. Mengajarkan kita bagaimana mengarungi hidup tanpa beban yg berlebihan, karna kita punya seorg Gembala yg baik yaitu Yesus.

So uplifting and appropriate to almost any life circumstance. It is a book that you can read out of order-one day you can read chapter 6 and a month later you can read chapter 1. Max Lucado adds humor and ties in the christian refernces to burdens we were never supposed to carry. I turn to it often.

This is a great book. It's based on the 23rd psalm and helps you unload the burdens you were never intended to bear. It breaks it it down line by line, and really helps you analyze what burdens you are carrying, so you can find ways to let them go. (Like the burden of guilt, wants, etc.)

I read this book in college when I was struggling a lot with who I was and where my life was going. Max's book was a great book that helps us realize what baggage we all carry along with us in life from our past that weighs us down and that we should be letting the Lord carry for us.

Really good and inspiring spiritual application book from the 23rd psalm a la Max Lucado.....he is such an incredible writer in my opinion anyways. each verse is taken apart and applied to concrete daily situations. i think i enjoyed his art of storytelling even more than the content itself.

Max Lucado's take on the 23rd Psalm and how it relieves us of the burdens of life. Read this for my book club. It was amusing from a missionary point of view since a hot topic of conversation is luggage - how many kilos? how many pieces? what's inside? did it make it? I recommend this.

Lucado shepherds you through the beloved 23rd Psalm, leading you beside the still waters of quiet reflection and using the familiar verses to walk you through an inventory of emotional and spiritual baggage you were never meant to carry. Lighten your load as you step ahead in faith!

When I started reading this book I didn't know exactly what to expect, but when I realized it was based on the 23rd. Psalm, I was hooked immediately. This book is inspiring, refreshing and challenging at the same time. Great book, I really enjoyed reading it!!!

This inspiring book is teaching me to lighten my soul of what I can't do a darn thing about, and trust in God, with the the 23rh Psalm as a guide. I am only a third of the way through, but I'm finding myself relating to the world a little different already.

I loved this book. Each chapter discusses a different "burden," and I found that I could take something from each and every chapter. I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be able to learn something from this book. It's brilliant, funny and easy to read.

This book spoke to me unlike any of Lucado's other books. The 23rd Psalm has been a favorite of mine because of my grandmother and the more I have studied David, it has only intensified my appreciation for the shepherd and The Shepherd.

Although I appreciate Max Lucado's passion for following Christ, this book was a disappointment. There were few things original in this book and it took me months to get through because it felt stale. I would not recommend this book.
