"don't forget you are an Agnelli" : ed ecco che il proprio nome è già un trauma...

Gli Agnelli. I principi dell'industria italiana.

This was one of the most straight-forward, unemotional accounts of someone's life I've ever read. Susanna "Suni" Agnelli is the granddaughter of the Italian automaker, Fiat, and this book is her recollection of her childhood through to her marriage to her husband at 20-something at the end of WWII. It was missing a lot of explanation and introspection and is riddled with a cast of characters that can be hard to keep track of. So why read it? It's a quick, interesting read about an interesting pe ...more

"We all know very well that it is the fate that brings you to be born into a family. But it is an event, not a virtue."

Enjoyed most of it. Quiteimpressive how the main character developed from a homish child into a young lady capable of organizing and managing mighty big and really useful activities.
Plus the first half or so is quite easy in terms of vocabulary and grammar, so it can be useful for students of Italian.

Fascinating book. I am amazed. I expected to read the story of a privileged girl and her amazing life experiences but it was much more than that. What she experienced during WW2 was really intense and courageous. I loved this book and I totally didn't expect that.

This book gives a view of the Second World War different from all the others I have read. Instead of persecuted Jews, it is about rich italian people.

It is interesting, ma non e un gran chè.
