This story held my interest.

He got off his horse, Duke, & watered him with a pan from the back of his pack. After he put the pan away, he looked over the valley. After traveling a while it looked like Placid was within sight. He shot some red squirrels & put them in his possible bag. That night he looked at the stars & heard a few shots in the distance. Then fell asleep for the night. He rode toward a house in the distance, & noticed 2 other riders doing the same.

the valley is falling apart. Reno is the only one that can pull it back together, but it will take some shooting to get the bad guys out of the way.

This is a pretty good read. I'm not usually much for westerns.

Westerns aren’t really my thing (excepting space westerns.) But someone gave this to me and I enjoy Gilbert Morris’ other historical fiction, so I gave it a shot. And it was ..okay. Just that easy to read, a couple of nice plot twists, and a main character that you really like despite himself.
