Books are ment to be shared and enjoyed. I picked up this book on a dare... okay my friend Jenni recommended that I read them so that we could talk.

I find it strange to read non-LDS Christian fiction. The book frequently quoted scripture without the references. This bothered me as a librarian and also as a reader. I wanted to check the wording of the verse in my KJ Bible but I obviously need to pump up my New Testament general knowledge/ memorized scriptures.

Back to the story. It was...more

Dee Henderson is a wonderful Christian Author. I enjoyed the O'Malley series & the Uncommon Hero Series. This first book, I am not sure if it was one of her first novels to write. It was a little slow, but as I moved forward to reading the other books in the series, the suspense, romance and drama all seemed to come together. Very good and clean book. After reading these books I came away with a good-feel feeling. What I love about these nonfiction books is the scriptures from the Bible and ...more

Dee Henderson is a christian writer, and I think she does a good job of combining romance with action and suspense. And, it's all done in a convincing, yet totally clean way. I'm half-way through the O'Malley series, and I would recommend them to anyone who likes easy to read, though really well-written books. I think she does a really great job of creating real, likeable characters. There's a tangible quality to her writing - you sometimes feel like you're right there with them.

I thought this was a really good book. It was about an ambassador's grown daughter who is being stalked by her childhood kidnapper. She has full-time FBI protection, but lives her life in fear and can't get rid of the memories of being left in a cellar for nine days as a six-year-old. She gets stuck in an elevator with a ex-NFL quarterback, and the story has a bit of romance (clean) between them.

It was a good story with just the right amount of suspense and romance.

Very good thriller about a woman who was kidnapped as a girl and is still being stalked by her kidnapper, who was never found. Due to this, she lives totally secluded, nobody knowing who she is. That is, until she finally finds a person she'd want to be a friend. I couldn't put it down and read it in less than a day... of course it probably helped that this was the first night in London, and I couldn't sleep because the bed was so empty :-P The book's still good though.

Well this book drug on a little too much for my taste. It was supposed to be a thriller, and it was throughout the book wondering what was going to happen. But once it hit the climax, it was finished up way too quickly. All the parts that could have been thrilling and exciting were only taken care of in a couple of pages, leaving me wanting more excitement. Because of that the danger just didn't feel real. Plus, the ending is REALLY cheesy. Not my favorite.

This one was a little creepy. It is a prequel to the O'Malley series and deals with a woman that was kidnapped at a young age and then rescued. The book is actually set when she is much older and how she was dealing with the kidnapping and the fact that her kidnapper was never caught. She wrote children's books and under an alias wrote murder mysteries. The book had the same spirit as the O'Malley series but with a "someone lurking in the shadows" twist.

Excellent prequel to a great series of mysteries involving the O'Malley family. Christian undertones are well-done, without being too preachy. The O'Malley family isn't a traditional "family", but a group of foster children who formed their own "family" to protect each other in the foster care system.
Each O'Malley Family mystery focuses on one adult from this foster family, who has succeeded in life, in spite of their difficult childhoods.

I was very apprehensive about this book when I started it. It seemed a bit hokey and uninteresting. But having read it, it was charming and decent. Do not expect great writing, because this book does not have it. The storyline is predictable, and the characters a bit unrealistic at times. All in all, however, I liked it. It was a fast read, and relatively simple. I will be reading the next book in the series for sure.

I read this series because it was by a Christian author, and I figured I'd had enough of the books with questionable themes in them. I just wanted some good-fluff type reading last summer, and decided that this was a fabulous way to get that. I ended up really enjoying the series and getting more books by the same author, though I think this series was her best yet.

This is a wonderful christian fiction series and I don't say that lightly. I am very, very picky about my christian fiction. I don't like it too preachy or heavy doctrine because that really shouldn't be the focus of fiction. That's the focus of non-fiction. Anyways this series is intense, full of mystery, action and a little romance. I loved it.

I read this book after reading all the O'Malley books. It is supposed to be a prequel but you don't have to have read this. The only overlapping character is Dave from Kate's book. Reading this book though opens up Dave's character so much. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed reading the O'Malleys.

Sara is terrified. Hidden away in the witness protection program, she is falling in love with former pro football player Adam Black-something that could get her killed. And FBI agent Dave Richman has his hands full keeping her safe from her sisters killer. When events bring Sara face-to-face with terror, will she rely on God for protection?

I got this book for my birthday from one of my church friends that was unfortunately the beginning of a long list of Christian romance novels that I sucked up in high school. If the underlying messages didn't completely screw me up, then it certainly skewed my ideas of what real literature was. Thank God I went to Westmont.

The prequel to the O'Malley series. Enjoyed it. Excellent plot and story. A little more preachy than some by this author. 25 years earlier, Sara was kidnapped and spent 9 days in a dark cellar. For all these years she has been in hiding. Now she meets a man she can like but he is famous and in the spotlight.

I wanted to like this book, because it was recommended to me as a good non-disturbing mystery by a Christian writer. I finished it and didn't hate it, but it was not well written. And sometimes the Christian themes were overdone. The love story isn't believable and it just generally left me dissatisfied.

I love all of these books! There are seven or eight books in this series and I never get tired of reading them! Dee Henderson is a very talented writer and keeps you on the edge of your seat. All of her books have unique plots, and characters...I can't think of anything else to say.

Not a book I would have ever picked up on my own (thank you book club) but I enjoyed it. It was an easy read so I was okay with the fact that the story wasnt spectacular. Glad I didnt buy it, okay that I took that time to read it. Probably not going to read the entire series.

This series is so good that you can't put them down. It's about friends who grew up together and decided to be a family. Each book is a story of each person falling in love while finding the true source of love... God.

I've read this series at least 3 times. :)
