Recommends it for: someone looking for a sex-free romance novel
Two weeks before their wedding, Sherry’s fiancée vanished with no explanation. For eight months she worried over him, hoping for some explanation, some communication. Now he has returned, with the thinnest of explanations and a declaration of undying love. How can Sherry trust someone who ran out on her and broke her heart?

In Blind Trust, Terri Blackstock’s third novel in the Second Chances series, Sherry must struggle between her feelings of love and her sense of abandonment. She longs for a lo

Written in 1990, this mystery involves preventing a massive embezzlement using a weakness in a bank's automated system. At the time this book was written, this was a relatively new type of crime, which may have helped garner an Anthony nomination for the author.

A bank official hires PI Catherine Sayler to track down a bank employee who has vanished and is suspected of plotting to use his knowledge of the system's weakness to pull off a major heist when payment for a corporate takeover enters th

Terri Blackstock is a favorite author of mine but this book was NOT her finest. It was SO melodramatic that at times I found myself laughing out loud.At other times- and there were many- I just wanted to slap the main character! I think the narrator of the audiobook added to the melodrama with her interpretation of the book but still the writing was like an old Harlequin Romance- when they were clean ;) . I thought maybe it was her first book but she had written several before it or had at least ...more

Clint mysteriously reappears after an 8 month absence, saying that he was writing a book. Sherry is heart broken and angry and doesn't buy it. After being followed, Clint and his friend Sam force Sherry and her roommate Madeline to go with them for their own safety, although the girls feel as though they've been kidnapped. The story finally comes out that Sherry's dad has put Clint into witness protection pending the trial of the Givanti business man that Clint saw kill Anderson. As Sherry tries ...more

Terri Blackstock is a wonderful author! This is one of her older books, and as good as it is her newer writing is better.

Eight months ago, Clint disappears just two weeks before his wedding with Sherry, with no explanation he was just gone. And now he's back still without an explanation for why he bailed. Sherry is understandably hurt, angry and distrust the man she thought she knew.

The action is fast paced with a lot of action. I thought I had a couple of things figured out but in typical Blac

Okay, so this book was published in 1997, and you can tell! Sherry gave Clint a GOLD CHAIN as an engagement present.... *snorts* Gotta love the '90s! Anyway, I thought the book was entertaining, though quite predictable. Maybe I've just seen similarly plotted movies too many times, but by about page 15 (and the book started on page 9), I figured it all out...

My biggest beef with the book was that once Sherry figures it out (p 87), she kinda turns into this unsupportive, insecure whiner-baby...

This one had more of the mystery/suspense in it that I am used to from Terri Blackstock. But I read some of her later books first. Good series.

Love this one. The characters, the storyline, the pace of the novel. Have reread this one 3 or 4 times.

Clint returns 8 months after he left his fiance suddenly, just 2 weeks before their wedding. Can Sherry ever learn to trust him again? Why did he leave if it wasn't because of cold feet? This is one of those books that is hard to put down because of the suspense, mystery and action... It contains lessons of love, trust and forgiveness. I was able to see a correlation between Sherry having to trust Clint "blindly" and how we have to learn to trust our Heavenly Father even when things don't make s ...more

This is a fast paced book with a bizarre set of circumstances. 2 weeks before Sherry and Clint were to marry, Clint disappeared. Now suddenly he is back 8 months later and he can’t give her any explanation, not yet anyway. Instead he asks that she trust him as he vows his love for her is still strong. Will Sherry’s faith in those around her crumble along with her faith in God too? Will she learn to trust Clint in the circumstance only to see his life be taken away before her? Will they finally b ...more

This Christian author is becoming one of my favorite! The first chapter has my interest and curiosity going and never stop turning the page. Got my "detective mind" thinking as to what happened to one of the main character. The one thing that I'm starting to make Terri Blackstock as one of my favorite authors is the truth she clearly waves in her books (so far the books that I've read). The truth in this particular book is forgiveness. Forgiving the people that hurt us. Another page-turner of a ...more

This book was better than the previous Blackstock release that I read (Emerald Windows). I still have issues when dealing with the behaviors of Blackstock's characters; especially her review on the male persona. Her male characters irritate more than anything. This story was a far more interesting read and easily held my attention. With all the distaste I have for her previous male characters I truly thought that the bodyguard in this one was a deep breath of relief from all others.

This one had a bit of mystery and suspense, so I liked it better than the rest in this series. A woman's fiance' disappears shortly before their wedding. Then she and her friend are kidnapped by him and some others--yet they can't give her any reasons, and only tell her to trust them!

I was not a fan of Sherry, one of the main characters in this book. She was weak, whiny and hysterical most of the time.
