There are some great ideas explored in this book, and the writing is great. What i found disappointing about the book was its reliance on fan service as a selling point. As far as i can tell from my own perspective, this book would be bought and read by anyone familiar with the series who read the first book, watched the movie, or watched the television show. Pretty much everything that was excellent about the first book has been excised in this installment.

I couldnt understand a word they said but the artwork was one of THE most amazing things i have ever seen! and for that it gets 5 stars. It was worth it just to look at the digital mixec whith hand drawn art. I think that is the most creative thing anyone has ever done whith manga.

The second volume of GITS is a really hardcore cyberpunk story. The artwork is amazing but the story is very hard to follow and will require probably repeating readings to get the knack of it.

I couldn't tell what the hell was going on most of the time, but the artwork alone made me purchase it.
