Pauses is 90% fascinating and 10% ho-hum. At first I was disappointed that the autobigraphies were basically sketches on a few pages. But as I read the book further, the small "slice of life" format grew on me and I appreciated the tid-bits I gleaned about each author/illustrator/poet.
I learned some incredible facts. Did you know the manuscript for Curious George was smuggled out of Paris just days before the Nazi take-over? You will after you read this book. I also discovered many authors/illu
