What better way to teach kids about important periods in history than to take a close look at what kids in those times and places were doing and what their concerns, responsibilities, and dreams were? This series, beautifully illustrated with drawings, art, and photos, looks at the lives of kids throughout many different historical periods.

Very basic text on ancient Greece for young children. The author provids a glossary for unfamiliar words. Given the title, I thought the text would spend more time on kids, rather than tackling a variety of topics (food, religion, clothing, etc.). The text follows a kid named "Castor" on a couple of pages, but it doesn't indicate whether this is a real person, and Castor isn't discussed in relation to all the topics.

This book is a great introduction for children into the world of ancient Greece. It sticks to facts and spells them out in plain, easy-to-understand language. Wroble uses Greek terminologies, explains what the words mean, and offers the correct pronunciation). Topics covered are: cities, houses, clothing, food, toys and games, education, religion, and social life. Each topic is treated in a single page and the opposite page contains either a photograph or a drawing that corresponds to the text.
