Although this book is #12 of Wing of Nights series, I think it is also a good stand alone book. The story is quite engaging and a page turner. In fact, I never read a vampire plus with 3/4 part of the book is about romance.

Stormy (I don't know why Shayne picked up this name) is very bold and quite confident with herself in order to win Vlad over Beta. While Vlad, he's a Dracula which I can feel how he felt for Stormy and Beta. He was confused. To choose either Beta or Stormy. Yup, that's rather...more

Sixteen years after Vlad Dracula (yes ... THAT Dracula) took Tempest Jones away from Maxie and Lou, we meet up with her again. A little rounder and a little older, Stormy still remembers her time with Vlad

... and she is still in love with him.

Vlad is still searching for a way to bring back his wife, Elisabeta, who commited suicide 500 years ago after hearing that Vlad had been killed while defending the borderlands.

Vlad knows that he must find the ring and the scroll that the magicians and soc...more

Recommends it for: vampyre lovers

This book is all about a romance between a 25 year old vampyre named Vlad , a human named Stormy "Tempest" Jones, and a suicidal vampyre bride. For years Vlad (not Dracula Tepes) has been in love with Stormy. But when Vlads past lover, Elisabeta, discovers Vlads feelings for Stormy she fights for what she beleives is hers. With a ruby ring that can bring Elisabeta in full control, a...more

Another perfect book in the Wings series. Although it doesn't have as much intrigue as the rest, this one touches base on the characters feelings a lot more. The events leading up to the climax and ending are perfectly wound together, the way it should be. At first, it felt like I was missing something, a long stretch between the last book and this one, but as you read the story, the 'stretch' is brought back and explained, and timed perfectly as well. What can I say? Maggie knows what she's doi...more
I've got a couple more books left in the Wings Twilight series. I'm going to go back and re-read them in the correct order (I got out of order on a few) and then write my reviews. I'm almost sad that I'm at the end of all the books. I've been flying through them at the speed of light. Just can't get enough.

Feels like a similar read story. A weak Hero, but Great Heroine. Stormy has the balls in this developing relationship.
Well when reading this book I was finally happy to read and did it measure up to what I though it was going to be? YES!!!
I enjoy books where the author has the readers at the edge of their chairs and Shayne did a good with that....
Stormy a detective who has Dracula's wife Beta residence in Stormy's body.
Dracula was getting on my nervous in the beginning when he refuse to see his died wife was insane. I was like really man "wake up and stop being blind!!!"
Happy to see with all of Shayne's books...more
. Dodicesimo volume della serie Wings in the Night.

Ze huis...more

Continuing the saga of Vlad (Dracula) and Stormy and Vlad's dead wife's soul. There is a lot of racing around and capturing only to loose them action, but the story was a little slower than I like. The flashbacks helped to fill in Vlad and Elisabeta's backstory and what happened with Stormy after she was abducted, but the long length of the flashbacks was enough that present reality was lost.
Since I've wondered what happened with Stormy and Vlad after the abduction, I'm glad I got a chance to re...more

Foretold centuries ago, it is a destiny they cannot escape...

The immortal Vlad Dracul has wandered for centuries in search of the reincarnation of his wife, Elisabeta. Now he believes he has found the woman possessed by his beloved's soul and is prepared to make her his for all eternity.

Tempest "Stormy" Jones has long sensed the other, someone inside her fighting to to take control, a feeling that burns stronger when the dark prince is near. As Stormy denies the passion between herself...more
It is important to note that I am not too upset with the author. I think this was an interesting story. However, I was a little unnerved by how many typos were present. One or two typos in a book is fine, I know editors aren't perfect and don't catch everything. But there were so many! Some words were not in the right order, there was a place where a word that didn't even belong in the sentence was present, and other little issues.

Clearly this is a case where the publishing company demands quan...more
I read this and did not know it was a book in a series, so it is certainly a stand alone story.

It starts out with Vlad Dracula coming home from battle to find his new bride, Elisabeta, dead. He has his magicians save a part of her soul in her ruby ring. In 500 years she will be reincarnated and he can perform a ritual that will bring her soul back.
It has been 500 years, and Tempest Jones has Elisabeta's soul in her, sixteen years ago Vlad tried to help "Stormy" remember her life as Elisabta and...more
Vlad Dracula has wizards/witches put a spell on his dead beloved, that in 500 years she will be resurrected when a spell is spoken and her ring is put on her finger. Uh, ok.

So Stormy (aka Tempest) is this reincarnation, and Vlad's dead/reborn wife Elisabeta is a psycho. If the spell isn't complete both souls will die.

This isn't a bad book, but its a bit ridiculous. Ok, I know we are talking about vampires here, so its not like we are in the real world, but I just didn't follow the plot, and Temp...more
3 stelle e 1/2

Book 9 in the "Wings in the Night" series (if reading in chronological order). The only complaint I have about this book is that there is 16 years between Blue Twilight and the continuation (this book- unfortunately that is what must happen- Ms. Shayne is trying to bridge that 16 year gap that took for Amber Lily to grow up). Stormy, is a little too old for the young and innocent writing that Ms. Shayne gives to her. This is about Stormy and Vlad. Overall, a satisfactory ending. We get to see so...more
I enjoyed reading about Stormy and Vlad, though I must say that I was more than a little annoyed with Elsabeth, and of course, Vlad for his utterly immature behaviour. Come on, he's supposed to have lived for centuries, he must know how to communicate better than this. Rhiannon was a marvellous minor character, and I enjoyed learning more of the complicated back-story of the creation of vampires. All in all a good, enjoyable read. I would give it a 3.5.

I positively adore writers who are able to lay down descriptions that I can cleary visualize.
Not just sex readers (though that is a favorite) I mean the entire package....Action, emotions, nature, architecture... style. The pages come alive in your imagination without being weighted down by filler bullshit you tend to find these days.
I will definitely be looking for more in this series and from this Maggie. :-)
Mostly annoying
Standard vampire romance but well written and with fairly hot sex scenes. This is book 12 in the Wings in the Night series which has covered 16 years over the past 9 books. That's a bit of a break from some series I've read lately that cover only 1 year over the course of 6 or 8 books. Kind of refreshing!
I did enjoy this book even though I had a little trouble understanding some of the plot elements. In my defense I did read this book first before reading the rest. A lot of focus is put on the characters making it somewhat different from the rest of the series.
Stormy’s story with Vlad is complicated by competing with his long dead-wife, who’s soul she is partially reincarnated from. Sounds confusing to me, even though I’ve read it. But it was fun mind candy and kept me interested. 4/5
The first I read in the series - and it was great... I've been trying to play catchup with the older ones, but they are not as easy to find. This however was a wonderful story. Definitely a keeper that you will want to read again.

Very good read, didn't know it was a romance novel, I'm not really into those but I love vampires. So this book is recommendable. *Note to self..If the guy on the cover is hawt then it might be a romance novel*
I really liked this, I wish there would have been less memory loss flashbacks, but it was a good story and there was a lot of action, romance, and even mystery. I will check out more from this author.

I live in the teeny, tiny town of Taylor, NY, (Alliteration Alert!) though my mailing address is Cincinnatus, my telephone exchange is Truxton and I pay taxes and vote in Cuyler.
