Although Prince of Twilight is very well written, I just didn't enjoy Vlad Dracul as a hero. He never redeemed himself in my eyes after his behavior in earlier books of preying on human females by kidnapping them for up to a couple of weeks, feeding on them, and returning them "physically unharmed" but with their memories wiped. The victims were emotionally scarred, and one even committed suicide afterwards. He was like a date rapist, but instead of roofies, he used his vampiric mind co

This book is all about a romance between a 25 year old vampyre named Vlad , a human named Stormy "Tempest" Jones, and a suicidal vampyre bride. For years Vlad (not Dracula Tepes) has been in love with Stormy. But when Vlads past lover, Elisabeta, discovers Vlads feelings for Stormy she fights for what she beleives is hers. With a ruby ring that can bring Elisabeta in full control, a

Another perfect book in the Wings series. Although it doesn't have as much intrigue as the rest, this one touches base on the characters feelings a lot more. The events leading up to the climax and ending are perfectly wound together, the way it should be. At first, it felt like I was missing something, a long stretch between the last book and this one, but as you read the story, the 'stretch' is brought back and explained, and timed perfectly as well. What can I say? Maggie knows what she's doi ...more

Although this book is #12 of Wing of Nights series, I think it is also a good stand alone book. The story is quite engaging and a page turner. In fact, I never read a vampire plus with 3/4 part of the book is about romance.

Stormy (I don't know why Shayne picked up this name) is very bold and quite confident with herself in order to win Vlad over Beta. While Vlad, he's a Dracula which I can feel how he felt for Stormy and Beta. He was confused. To choose either Beta or Stormy. Yup, that's rather

Sixteen years after Vlad Dracula (yes ... THAT Dracula) took Tempest Jones away from Maxie and Lou, we meet up with her again. A little rounder and a little older, Stormy still remembers her time with Vlad

... and she is still in love with him.

Vlad is still searching for a way to bring back his wife, Elisabeta, who commited suicide 500 years ago after hearing that Vlad had been killed while defending the borderlands.

Warning this is a book meant for those 18+

I've read a few Maggie Shayne novels and I loved quite a few of them but sadly this one has so far been disappointing. The story line sounds amazing and the characters sound strong and deal with lots of complications but I think the reason I could not fall in love with this particular book myself, is the main character Stormy. Through out the book she is proclaimed to be a strong independent woman who can overcome Vlad's temptations and fights Betta on a

I have read the book when Stormy and Vlad met and this is the end of their story.
Well written, flashbacks to tell about the time in between.
Now the time is ticking away before the end of Elisabeta and Stormy. Of course it is not an easy ending, there are lots of moments of tension and fights.
And who will Vlad choose his wife from 500 years ago or Stormy?
At the end of the book after some hot and erotic moments you will know the answer to that.
I am not going to spoil it for you.

I feel conflicted reviewing this installment to the Wings in the Night series. One the one hand, it was a captivating ride from the first page to the last, delivering so many revelations about this little universe that Maggie Shayne has created. I think that as a stand alone novel, it would work wonderfully. However, I have to admit that it doesn't completely sync up with the novel that came before it. Such care was taken in describing the emotional damage that Vlad did to his female victims bef ...more

I've got a couple more books left in the Wings Twilight series. I'm going to go back and re-read them in the correct order (I got out of order on a few) and then write my reviews. I'm almost sad that I'm at the end of all the books. I've been flying through them at the speed of light. Just can't get enough.

I think I read a preview of this story in another book about the love story between Vlad, his dead wife Elizabeta, and Stormy. In the past Vlad had magicians make a spell that would put his dead wife soul into a living female relative of hers; this leads to Stormy having Elizabeta(AKA Beta)soul inside her body. Vlad has to put a ring and do a spell that will let Elizabeta's soul take over Stormy body and push Stormy's soul out of the body. Yet Vlad falls in love with Stormy too so the question i ...more

Well when reading this book I was finally happy to read and did it measure up to what I though it was going to be? YES!!!
I enjoy books where the author has the readers at the edge of their chairs and Shayne did a good with that....
Stormy a detective who has Dracula's wife Beta residence in Stormy's body.
Dracula was getting on my nervous in the beginning when he refuse to see his died wife was insane. I was like really man "wake up and stop being blind!!!"
Happy to see with all of Shayne's books
Vlad returns in Prince of Twilight, but he's still not quite the star of the show. We got to really know Stormy Jones in previous stories in the series, and saw a lot of her in the book just previous (#11). In fact, book 11 seems to really set the stage for this book very nicely - even if this one happens several years later. Vlad is still looking for a way to reincarnate his dead wife - whose soul currently lives in Stormy. But doing so would kill Stormy, which he doesn't want to do either.

. Dodicesimo volume della serie Wings in the Night.

Continuing the saga of Vlad (Dracula) and Stormy and Vlad's dead wife's soul. There is a lot of racing around and capturing only to loose them action, but the story was a little slower than I like. The flashbacks helped to fill in Vlad and Elisabeta's backstory and what happened with Stormy after she was abducted, but the long length of the flashbacks was enough that present reality was lost.
Since I've wondered what happened with Stormy and Vlad after the abduction, I'm glad I got a chance to re

Foretold centuries ago, it is a destiny they cannot escape...

The immortal Vlad Dracul has wandered for centuries in search of the reincarnation of his wife, Elisabeta. Now he believes he has found the woman possessed by his beloved's soul and is prepared to make her his for all eternity.

Tempest "Stormy" Jones has long sensed the other, someone inside her fighting to to take control, a feeling that burns stronger when the dark prince is near. As Stormy denies the passion between herself

It is important to note that I am not too upset with the author. I think this was an interesting story. However, I was a little unnerved by how many typos were present. One or two typos in a book is fine, I know editors aren't perfect and don't catch everything. But there were so many! Some words were not in the right order, there was a place where a word that didn't even belong in the sentence was present, and other little issues.

Clearly this is a case where the publishing company demands quan

I read this and did not know it was a book in a series, so it is certainly a stand alone story.

It starts out with Vlad Dracula coming home from battle to find his new bride, Elisabeta, dead. He has his magicians save a part of her soul in her ruby ring. In 500 years she will be reincarnated and he can perform a ritual that will bring her soul back.
It has been 500 years, and Tempest Jones has Elisabeta's soul in her, sixteen years ago Vlad tried to help "Stormy" remember her life as Elisabta and

Vlad Dracula has wizards/witches put a spell on his dead beloved, that in 500 years she will be resurrected when a spell is spoken and her ring is put on her finger. Uh, ok.

So Stormy (aka Tempest) is this reincarnation, and Vlad's dead/reborn wife Elisabeta is a psycho. If the spell isn't complete both souls will die.

This isn't a bad book, but its a bit ridiculous. Ok, I know we are talking about vampires here, so its not like we are in the real world, but I just didn't follow the plot, and Temp

Book 9 in the "Wings in the Night" series (if reading in chronological order). The only complaint I have about this book is that there is 16 years between Blue Twilight and the continuation (this book- unfortunately that is what must happen- Ms. Shayne is trying to bridge that 16 year gap that took for Amber Lily to grow up). Stormy, is a little too old for the young and innocent writing that Ms. Shayne gives to her. This is about Stormy and Vlad. Overall, a satisfactory ending. We get to see so ...more

I enjoyed reading about Stormy and Vlad, though I must say that I was more than a little annoyed with Elsabeth, and of course, Vlad for his utterly immature behaviour. Come on, he's supposed to have lived for centuries, he must know how to communicate better than this. Rhiannon was a marvellous minor character, and I enjoyed learning more of the complicated back-story of the creation of vampires. All in all a good, enjoyable read. I would give it a 3.5.
