Dr. Parrish and Dr. Jones were professors of mine at William Woods, and I can actually say that I did some preliminary research for them on this project. It is an excellent one-volume history of the Show Me State. One point however: In the original 1980 edition and the second edition published in 1992, 1972 Missouri attorney general candidate James Spain is identified as being from Salem; Spain lived in Bloomfield at the time and currently lives in Poplar Bluff.
