I think I now understand better why so many L.J. Smith's fans crave the last, 10th, installment of the Night World series - Strange Fate - to be finally published. Throughout this series of paranormal romances Smith has created a fascinating supernatural world and gradually built up to a great end-of-the-world showdown destined to happen in the final chapter of the story.

Huntress: Jezebel Redfern is the leader of the most dangerous Night world gang, the ones who hunt humans and drink their blood for the fun of it, until one night she learns a horrifying secret.... one that can make her second in command Morgead Blackthorn kill her... and last but not the least one that can cause her to be excuted by the Night World and it seems like she only has one choice if she is to live.
After one year of hiding and working for Circle Daybreak Jez is given an assignment to find the first wildpowers the ones who help the light defeat the dark and the only person who has the answer to that is other than Morgead. Problem is one: they are soulmates so she can't hide a thing from him and two: The Redferns are after her and it is upto her to protect herslef and human relatives plus whoever the wildpower is from her enemies.

Black Dawn: The only thing that Maggie Neely ever worried about was leading her soccer team to victory until one night her brother Miles's girlfriend Sylvia comes and claims he is dead. Everyone seems to believe her except Maggie and then she follows Sylvia only to make herself a slave to the Dark Kingdom where Delos Redfern rules and is the prince and where she is in a prophecy the witches have digged indicating she was going to free the slaves. Maggie doesn't believe in it and the only thing she wants to know is where her brother is but can she resist the charms of Delos and his threatining and harshiness? it seems like the answer is no.

Witchlight: Raksha Keller is a shape-shifting panther known as Keller and her team-mates Nissa Johnson and Winfrith Arlen are the best Circle Daybreak team and their latest assignment is to get and protect the fragile silver haired and dizzy looking girl called Ilianna Harman from the Night World since she is the 3rd wildpower and the Witch Child. Keller can't just handle the girl but her anger grows when the blonde haired, golden eyed Galen Drache is being gentle with her and telling he loves her. It seems ludicriously wrong since he is supposed to marry Ilianna as he is the prince of the shapeshifters but it seems as if there invisible connection that Keller can't resist.(less)

So far, Night World is my favorite L.J. Smith series, because it is the most cracktastic. It is full of the kinds of stuff your sixteen-year-old id comes up with and incorporates into your private vast crossover-ridden original fiction playground. The Nightworld series read like fanfiction, but don't let that deter you. It read like GOOD fanfiction (which, believe me, is hard to find!). While Smith's writing is easy to follow and simply flows, she gets down to business realtively quickly in each story. Evidently most people showing interest in this book is for the supernatural romance. We all know by now that the night world is a society within a society! Top sup secret!!!! And the O.B. 1’s, do not like sups (supernatural) and humans to mix. Bottom line, don’t. Play. With. Your. food!!!! This is another of my very favorite in the series and I loved every minute of it. The heroine is a smart, weird teen, Maggie! Maggie had stumbled upon an ancient Night World realm when trying to save her brother from a witch. She also stumbled upon a vampire prince and a wild power! (Basically, he’s the BEEP). Delos turned out to be Maggie’s soul mate. Trouble!!!! It was a push and pull relationship, Delo’s was fighting his feeling the entire time, growling something about he can't love her and hates humans. (As. if). Hunter Redfern AKA (Devil) wanted Delos to help him take over the old night would kingdom, (As they say deals with the devil)! Delos, with Maggie's help, realizes that Hunter Redfern is his adversary! I mentioned that I loved this book? Yes I did! 5 stars!!!
Witch light book nine L.J. Smith.
In this chapter, Iliana Harman is the wild power from the witch’s descendant. She is nice, caring, charming and liked by everyone! She has a big heart. Lliana is also destined to marry Galen Drache, a shape shifter of the first house. If this joining goes as planned, there will be an alliance between the shape shifters and the witches!!!! Meaning their chance of survival in the upcoming war might be guaranteed! Raksha Keller, a shape shifter and her team races to a mall to save the new Wild Power, lliana Harman. However Keller soon realizes that wild power's betrothed, Galen Drache, is her soul mate! Can they stay apart? Or will they make the ultimate sacrifice???? I loved this story… it another favorite of mine and it had a wonderful ending. The first book; Huntress, follows Jez, a half human half vampire - she only finds out about this a little into the book - and she now works for Circle Daybreak, an organization that allows both those from the Night World to work with humans. We also learn that Circle Daybreak is looking for the wild cards that will help them during the upcoming apocalypse, and they must find them before the "evil" ones (for a lack of a better term) finds them. As the story progresses, we find out Jez's soulmate and one of the four wildcards. This was a thrilling story because it's the first time I read about a half human half vampire. And Jez was pretty awesome, too.

The second book, Black Dawn, follows Maggie, a normal human who stumbles upon the Night World when her brother disappears. It's really interesting to see how Maggie not only stumbles upon the Night World, but is also a part of a prophecy to help free people in a castle. And we also meet, Delos, the second of the four wildcards, who knows that he is one, and has trained hard to master his power. The way these two meet is kind of sweet, but .. not really. Can't really explain it, but all I can say is that I read this in one sitting, and it was really good.

The last book, Witchlight, follows Keller, a member of Circle Daybreak. She is helping to find the third wildcard, and in the process of doing so, finds her soulmate. However, things get complicated as the story progresses as her soulmate has to marry the wildcard for political reasons. Oooh, what will happen? Read it :)

This is by far, my favourite volume of the three. Now just waiting for Strange Fate. I really hope it comes out soon, as it's been pushed back for nearly a decade because the author had some personal issues to deal with. But I heard that it's currently in the publishing stage? I really hope that it comes out this year. (less)

This was, by far, the best book in the series so far. It may have had the same awful cover style, but it had the best stories inside. I personally loved all the books in the bind-up and thought 'Wow I can't wait for Strange Fate to come out!'. Well guess what? I still am. I started getting a little less amused and a little more annoyed with all the talk about limpid eyes that look like violets after someone cried on them or some such nonsense. I don't even know what that means. Is that supposed to be different from violets that weren't just rained on? I don't know. When she discovers a terrible secret about her heritage she forces herself out of the Night World to live in the Day World, refusing to think of herself anything more than a freak. Hunting Wild Powers and struggling with everything else around her, keeping her new family safe, Jez discovers many things. The reader is brought into her world to feel every single ounce of emotion and pain and suffering as she does.
Black Dawn is about a young girl, Maggie, who's brother, Miles, is supposedly dead, according to his girlfriend, Slyvia. Maggie knows somethin isn't right about her story and follows her through the rain, as a spy. However, when Maggie arrives at Slyvia's appartment, she gets quite a surprise. She's entering the Night World without any knowledge of what lies ahead. Through her journey she discovers she is accompanying one of the most important "people" in that world. The battle she recklessly fights and everything else she endures is what helps her make it through this mysterious and creepy gruesome dark place. However, is she strong enough to do what it takes to save the aspect that will determine the end of the world???
Witchlight is about a shapeshifter's forbidden love story. Keller is a fierce panther in her 'shifter form. She shows no emotion that could cause any sign of endangerment to those around her. When Circle Daybreak orders the best of the best, Keller and her crew of a witch and a vampire, and later another surprising accompanist, she takes on the full body guard act. However, when Keller discovers that she is the soulmate of the Witch Child's soon-to-be fiance', she tries to deny it but the bond is too great. How will she be able to push aside such a strong, undeniable gift from the Old Powers in order to stop the end of the world?

Black Dawn:- The Story was good. It was ok. Not very entertaining...The Character were ok too...First of all can someone tell me Maggie's age?! L.J Smith only told her brother's age. And then she was looking like a 4 year old girl but Delos was good. Even though I hated it when he kept saying "stay away from me!"
The rest of the characters were good actually! I liked Jeanne, Aradia, Sylvia and her brother Miles! :D The ending was good. I liked it when Maggie came to know Aradia is a witch and then Miles is a falcon. But I was feeling strange. Now...If you are changed into a Falcon for 6 to 10 days and then when your sister rescues you...will you do only a Thumbs up?! :S I mean He should have been like "Thank you for saving me!" or like "I was scared" or something else. It was ok. I will give 3.5/5 star :)

Witchlight:- This story was better! I enjoyed it! The characters were great! Keller was smart cool and brave. Galen was pure handsome and nice to everyone. But I like bad characters...so I didn't enjoyed him that much. Other Characters were good.Iliana, Nissa etc! :D The ending was ok. I liked the parts when Jamie was the dragon and Iliana was having the wild Power even though I thought In the end Keller would have.I will give 4/5 stars =]

Overall the book was good! I really Liked Huntress out of all the stories. But at some points I was really irritated (by the other stories and scenes).I liked Night world 2 which was thousand times better than this book. I just want to read the conclusion "Strange Fate" and be like. "Yay! The series are over!" lol.:P:D I will overall rate this book 4/5 stars =)(less)

I've said it twice, but I'll say it all once more, as much as I didn't want to admit it, I saw these books, knew they were about vampires, and couldn't even try to say no! When I found the Night World Volumes 1, 2 and 3 I became openly skeptical, a little unexcited(due to the surplus of unintelligent Young Adult Vampire novels as of oh so very recently, thanks Twilight!) but still couldn't ignore the fact that I was without a doubt going to read them.

I've said it twice, but I'll say it all once more, as much as I didn't want to admit it, I saw these books, knew they were about vampires, and couldn't even try to say no! When I found the Night World Volumes 1, 2 and 3 I became openly skeptical, a little unexcited(due to the surplus of unintelligent Young Adult Vampire novels as of oh so very recently, thanks Twilight!) but still couldn't ignore the fact that I was without a doubt going to read them.

I only wish that I knew how quickly and ferociously I would DEVOUR them all; chapter by chapter like a raging beast of sorts, from the Night World itself! I literally could not put these down, I don't think I dared to take a break during each individual story.

This third volume of Night World is jam packed with more cute adolescent love, adventure and possibly apocalyptic madness! With every minute bringing them closer to the millennium , circle daybreak strives to find the wild powers foretold in ancient prophecies just for a chance keep the human race from extinction!

Volume 3 had me up in arms over 'Huntress', about Jez Redfern the only half human, half vampire in the entire night world! Who after growing up as a ravenous and dangerous hunter of 'vermin' humans discovers she is one of those things she so despises. And the plot only thickens further when she finds her soulmate in Morgead(who sure sounds dreamy!), a vampire she grew up with who has no idea that she is now living as a human, and will surely kill her if he finds out.

'Black Dawn' tells us about human Maggie, who stumbles into a whole mess of trouble in the scary night world when her brother disappears. Not to mention 'Witchlight' starring the enigmatic Keller, a werepanther who's only job is to protect Iliana, a lost witch and wild power, but it becomes harder for Keller to want to save her when she finds her soulmate Galen, who just so happens to be betrothed to Iliana!

By the time I got this one finished I found a few things to dislike that I hadn't thought of before (for example, the always happy ending that seems to come with the soulmate principle, the predictability and relatively vapid conversation) but overall these books do just what they are intended to do; make you laugh, give your mind a vacation and maybe a little adventure too. No one can deny these are easy reads, but sometimes that's a good, enjoyable thing! I may not have learned a new language or a new recipe for tofu but I did laugh nearly til tears! (if it was intended or not...)

Sit down for a few hours, play some classical tunes and dive into a different world, the Night World is fun!

I recently read a book called Secret Circle and the main character can’t ask her mom about what is happening to her because she thinks they will think she is crazy, and her dad is dead. She can’t ask her mom or grandmother because they don’t want her or the other kids to have a Wicca circle because of what happened to the other kids’ parents. I pretty much predicted this whole thing... Jez ending up with Morgead; Jez being the Wild Power; And even Pierce being the traitor in the gang. I don't know why it was so easy to predict, but I liked it nonetheless. The gang was cool and everyone had a love for each other the whole time. When Jez was gone for a whole year without a trace you would think the gang wouldn't have accepted her so easily, but the did and it was great.

The book was amazing and mind taking it had lots of characters and lots of stories but it was put in a way that all the stories and the characters were connected and it was easy to read. Loved the Night world book series a lot and i cant wait to see how it ends.

One year later she is living with her mothers brother uncle Jim and his family and is now a vampire hunter and works with cirlce daybreak. Jez has got to go back to her vampire gang to get the wild power cause her old gang are saying that they know where it is so in order to get the power for circle daybreak she has to join the gang again and she also finds out that Morgead her old vampire friend is her soul-mate. In the end Jez turns out to be the wild power everyone was looking for and now she is in some safe place protected by circle daybreak and Morgead has joined the circle and they also found an old soul Iona the little girl they thought was the wild power.

8th part Black-dawn its about a girl named Maggie, her brother went climbing with his girlfriend but then his girlfriend Sylvia came back to tell them that he died in an accident when he was climbing but Maggie doesn't believe her cause she knows that her brother is an excellent climber so she follows her to an apartment and then she wakes up to find herself in a cart with other girls that tell her she is now a slave. After that she escapes with the girls and runs into Delos who is a vampire and he saves her from the shape-shifter that was going to kill her. Then Delos turns out to be a wild power and he is Maggie's soul-mate, together they kill all the evil night people, find her brother Miles who is now a shape-shifter, free all the slaves and join circle daybreak so that the ciclre could protect them until the day comes when the wild powers are needed to save the world.

9th part Witch-light begins with three girls Keller a shape-shifter, Winnie a witch and Nissa a vampire, they are a team that works for circle daybreak, they have a mission to find the 3rd wild power and bring her in. They have located the girl, she is in a shop but someone else has found her before them the night people, then they are in a fight with a dragon, Keller hurts the dragon but the dragon was going to kill her until someone came and made Keller let go of the dragon his name is Galen. They go to a safe-place, they find out that Galen is a shape-shifter and not any ordinary one he is from the first house which means he comes from a family that can choose any animal but once they choose it they cant change to anything else, Galen has to marry Iliana the girl who is the wild power she is also a lost witch so that the witches and shape-shifters join forces against the vampires. Later on he dragon comes back, finds them and gets in a fight with them, the only way to kill him is to remove his horns, Keller removes three of them but then she cant anymore and she almost dies that's when Galen changes into a panther the same as Keller and attacks the dragon and removes the 4th horn but the dragon attacks Galen and he cant move either that's when Iliana's wild power awakens and she gets rid of the dragon and also manages to heal everyone. Its almost midnight, they have to get to the ceremony so that the witches & shape-shifters join when Iliana & Galen make a promise but Iliana cant do it cause she knows that Galen is in love with Keller, they are soul-mates so she cuts her hand and Keller's so now they are blood sisters which means Keller can take Iliana's place and she can be with Galen and be happy together. Iliana, Keller, Galen, Winnie and Nissa are taken back to circle daybreak headquarters so they can be protected there until the wild powers are needed.

Huntress: This was my favourite in this book. It was so awesome, and I loved the relation ship between Jez and Morgeard. Jez was a really cool character and made me laugh and Morgeard was funny. "DON'T YOU DARE DIE ON ME, JEZEBEL! DON'T YOU DARE! Or I swear I'll follow you to the next world and KILL you." -- My favourite line. I liked Hugh; I loved the fact he was an Old Soul. It's really interesting. I liked everything about this story, and I didn't want it to end.

Huntress was a pretty good story. Easy to get into. Most of these stories seem to be love stories amoungst other things. There are mentions of names from characters in books prior as they all do tie together. These stories all seem to be amping up for a big battle soon to come.
The story Black Dawn was also a pretty good story. Yes it is another human/vampire soulmate story. The last 4 seemed to be. Wishing I got to read the first volume. It's also about the good guys trying to contact the...more

Half vampire, half human, huh? That's pretty cool. I thought Jez was a very cool character. It was interesting how much and how quickly she changed once she discovered she was half human. But then everyone in this series makes complete 180 degree changes, so I guess it's expected. Hugh was once again awesome. I liked the interactions between him and Jez. Yeah, that's pretty cool. I guess we'll find out who all the Wild Powers are as we go.

Black Dawn:
Well this was a very interesting concept. The idea of a Vampire city hidden away and forgotten by time where no one went in or out for centuries until recently and humans were all slaves. Interesting. And I really liked that the heroine was an ordinary human doing extraordinary things in midst of a whole lot of extraordinarily evil beings. Maggie was absolutely brilliant in this book. Honestly, she was the first character that I've noticed being consistent all the way through the story. And I was glad that her brother wasn't dead. But speaking if dead, I wonder if Hunter Redfern is really dead. He's been around since book one and was really evil evil. It looks like Delos killed him with his wild power, but I'm wondering if he's really dead. I guess we'll see!

Witchlight:
I think the most interesting thing about this book was how Illyana grew throughout the entire story and yet still held on to who she was. And I suppose the same thing could be said of Keller. She finally opened up and let someone in. Gallen was a cool character. And can anybody say DRAGONS? Dragons are cool in an evil kind of way. I was beginning to doubt Illyana was the wild power until the very end when she finally used it. This was a good story.

And I guess I have to join the masses who are still waiting for the next and final installment of this series. From what I've read, the author is taking forever with it and people have been waiting a long time. Hope it's worth the wait!(less)

Huntress is about a young lady named Jezabel Redfern, one of the best and most honoured huntresses in the Night World. She is a strong and endearing throughout this story. Her attitude and willingness to do good after all the bad makes you engage with her character. The reader is brought into her world to feel every single ounce of emotion and pain and suffering as she does.

Black Dawn is about a young girl, Maggie, who's brother, Miles, is supposedly dead, according to his girlfriend, Sylvia. Maggie has strength, passion and drive like no other, she fights every obstacle that gets in her way just to help others putting her life at risk in the process. Maggie is the most un-selfish person there is and her passion to do good is continuously shown.

Witchlight is about a shapeshifter's forbidden love story. Keller is a fierce panther in her 'shifter form. She shows no emotion that could cause any sign of endangerment to those around her.I wasn't very keen on Keller's character in this book, she came across a little selfish at points and self driven but then i suppose its what has to be done in her life. Her character is different and still manages to grip ones attention throughout.

I was highly impressed by Night World No.3, the series has only got better and better with each book. It will take you on numerous gore-filled adventures and take you through a few lusty times, and every minute is action-packed and good to go. I highly recommend if you haven't read this yet.

I liked the puzzle behind them it all and the quest to find it was equally interesting. Jez Redfern was a great character. I liked the way her attitude changed when she found out about her human background. At first I didn't particularly like Morgead but when she went back to the pack I understood him and it was great ... I don't think you could beat the MAGNIFICENT ending ! Final verdict: Night World in my humble opinion, is a story full of peaks and valleys. I honestly expected more considering the popularity of Vampire Diaries. The plot and the structure of the stories are interesting but when it was all laid out, it fell flat most of the time.
