Great work from Tolkein, it begins with the starting of the world.....and though it has crowd of characters and in the begining makes you baffled as you keep forgetting who is who's son but yet it is much more grand than LOTR. After reading it the events of LOTR and Hobbit seems to be small events in the history of TOlkein's world. The bravery, courage, play of fate, the power of jewels and swords, love, treachery, pride all is far more magnificient here than in LOTR or Hobbit. Same goes with th ...more

Finishing this book is like pulling back completely satisfied after a perfect meal. Vast in its scope and intricacy, it would be difficult to describe the spectrum of emotions I experience when I read and revisit this book, series and world. Incredible.
