Dr. David Hall is a freelance archaeological fieldworker. He was the first Field Officer of the English Heritage funded Fenland Project in 1976. His life's work has been dedicated to conducting large scale surveys of open field systems which culminated in the publication The Open Fields of England (Oxford University Press, 2014).
