I'm Aussie and despite some well used terms of Australian slang used in the book, I just dont think I've ever heard anyone refer to the telly (TV) as the box before. I mean we call it telly and yes Oz sounds about right, but sometimes I think that the writer is going OTT in making Jude too Aussie (if there is such a thing). But other than that I liked the story.

Alyssa is sweet and studious, she just found out that her college boyfriend is going on a couch surfing (which by the way is actually a...more

I really like these fun books by Rachel Hawthorne. This one is a quick read that entertains.

Alyssa is a college freshman who studies a lot and has only had one boyfriend, the one she met the day she moved into her dorm. They haven't really been on a date, just hang out together and kiss. Then winter break arrives and the said boyfriend decides to go couch surfing to Australia. And he conveniently decides to take a break from his relationship with Alyssa right before he leaves. Oh, but don't tel...more

If you’re looking for an easy read with a simple plot and a cute romance with some tingling moments included, Suite Dreams is the book for you. I don’t have much to say about this, the story is not deep or meaningful or anything like that and the romance is not overwhelmingly beautiful but still, the story was fun. Simply some light reading material, perfect for a summer day on the beach.

Alyssa met Rick at her first semester and they became a couple right away. Their relation ship was comfortable, but then he left her and went on vacation to Australia while she's going to spend her winter break alone.

Although Alyssa recognize she wasn't totally in love with Rick, she still feels bad. She wanted to be like her parents, who found each other at school.

While she's dealing with that, Jude, the sexy Australian guy, comes looking for he...more

3.5 stars!

This book is light and romantic. I liked it alright.

Ofcourse I loved the hot Aussie by the name of Jude. He's funny and adventurous and sweet. And oh, he has an Australian accent. That's hot, eh? I love his humor and I love that he's smart but at the same time, he can be easy going. He's a kind of a perfect guy. If a guy who's into studying is a turn on for you, then he's definitely a go-go. Though you won't see that side of him here.

And Alyssa, though I prefer to call her Lys too, is...more

Actual rating is 4.5 out of 5.

Who hasn’t dreamed of a hot Australian just showing up on their doorstep? I’d probably freak out and think he was a murderer or something because that doesn’t really happen in today’s world (at least not in mine). I’m also wondering, is couch surfing a real thing? According to google, it is. There’s even a website (https://www.couchsurfing.org/)!

Suite Dreams was a pretty quick (133 pages on the Nook) read that left me wanting more. No, it didn’t have a cliffhanger,...more

omg i loved it soooo much it was a different story than most of her books
-the girl had the black hair and blue eyes and fit ish body
-the guy was brown haired and had blond highlight and greenish eyes
most of her book the main guys have black hair and dazzleing blue eyes with a crocked smile lol i loved it soooo much i have almost finished all of her books !!!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. Alyssa and Jude were so cute together and the whole time I was reading, I couldn't help but smile. They went on so many adventures that I was always excited for what they were going to do next. And I don't think that there is one thing that Jude can't do or learn how to do. He is just constantly looking for more things to try.

This book is perfect for anyone wanting to read a short-but sweet-story about two people falling in love. But be warned, once you start, it's...more

I was pretty much hooked with this from beginning to end. And when I got to the ending, I needed more. The story's so cute and sweet and a little addicting. I wish it was longer.

I LOVE their first meeting. Lol. It's just refreshing from the gawk-jaw-drop-the-world-just-stopped-revolving first meetings which are quite rampant now. I also love how they became friends, although there was attraction but i think the characters were given time to actually warm up to each other before the snogging. Yes...more

Before I Read the Book

Because of the title, Suite Dreams, I thought the story was going to be about a group of girls staying at a hotel, possibly at a ski resort or something, and the protagonist meets a cute guy staying in the suite next door or down the hall from them. Not about a dorm room suite, which is admittedly a lot less exciting if you ask me...

Summary of the Story

It's winter break, and Alyssa and her boyfriend Rick decide to take a break from eachother while he travels to Australia co...more

Abso-bloody-lutely amazing! This was a very cute little story about Alyssa, or "Lys" and a hot Aussie named Jude.

Crikey! I don't know what to say. This was too cute for words, literally. These little books are so fun to read! Remember, don't take them seriously, they're meant to be ridiculous and funny and corny. Ah, remember all that corn I talked about in the other 'cutsie' books like this? Well, this is no exception. Indeed, this was CORNY! Don't you just love corn?

This is going to be an in...more

Things you should never do that involve a new guy:

* Never fall for the guy the very first day at your very first university, and then hang out with him constantly.
* Never allow him to think it would be best to go on a break.
* Never let him leave, during the break of the relationship, to go to Australia. There is no possible way that things will work out!
* Never act coy about the whole situation - get him to talk since he's...more

Frustration is what I feel. Great book, was going so well.. loved the whole thing.. and then I read the ending.. or rather lack thereof. I just wish that she had written a proper ending, or a fuller ending. It felt rushed and sudden. It also felt a bit up in the air. I wanted to know how they would make their relationship work, and what happened between her and Rick. Does Rick stay in Australia? Or does he want her back? Or what! Ahhhh feelings of being unsatisfied.. really doesn't sit well with...more

This book sounded really cute when I first heard of it! Plus, after her Dark Guardians series, I am a huge fan of Rachel Hawthorne's -- I just can't believe it took me so long to pick this up!

Straight off, I liked Alyssa. She actually reminded me a lot of me, actually, in the way that she studies obsessively for school. I loved her bravery (even though she didn't see it) and her attitude towards everything. Her voice sounded really genuine, and I loved that she sounded like she could have been o...more

My Thoughts: Another cute book! I totally love reading Rachel Hawthorne and this was the one I have been looking forward to most! It was so cute! I liked the whole idea of a guy coming and sleeping on her couch. Its always the weirdest ways people fall in love. Especially when they least expect it or want it. I like reading about the mysterious ways love works. This was a pretty fast read but I enjoyed each and every page of it. I felt her boyfriend who arranged the couch swapping was a little b...more

OK... here's the thing. If you're looking for a book that is going to go all psychological and deep, Rachel Hawthorne books just aren't for you. With that being said, while I love books that do go psychological and deep, it is nice to read a book just for the enjoyment of reading and getting a good story-- and that is exactly what Rachel Hawthorne writes. Suite Dreams is little different. It's romantic and sweet and a quick read! What is different in this book from her other books, though, is th...more

I loved Jude and Alyssa, they were real people thrown in a unrealistic but cool environment. The situation might not have been realistic but the fact that you should take time out of your schedule and just have fun was made very clear. It was difficult for Alyssa to realize that she didnt always just do homework, there should be time for breaks. Also, taking new things as they come is really important as well, without complaining maybe life would be a little bit better for all of us. I was reall...more

Alyssa decides that she is going to take classes over break, so she can spend time with her boyfriend Rick. Unfortunately, Rick decided he wanted to take a break from their relationship. Alyssa is on her way back to her dorm when she sees someone. She freaks out and pepper sprays him and finds out later Rick is participating in a couch swap. It just happens the guy she sprayed is Jude. While Rick is in Australia, Jude is supposed to stay in Rick's room. Rick has the tendency of not communicating...more

Ok throwing this one out there! I am pretty crappy at reviews so here it goes.

Rachel Hawthorne captures what every girl wants in a guy in her leading male character in this book. So needless to say if your a romantic type you will love this book.

The characters are well done. So through the book you aren't sitting there hating them!

The scenes are well done as well.

And I am sorry for you people who rated this book below a three because this book was very easy to follow, well written, fun, roman...more

Couch surfing? Totally creative! I haven't even heard of something called couch surfing, and people actually swapped couches from different continents, amazing. I liked the way Jude )the Aussie) said 'gawd', and I just can picture his expression when he said that. Jude is totally different from Rick, which works out just fine with Lys. They shared a lot of romantic moments, and Jude is this kind of sweet, protective guy who could make you feel comfortable and fun. When they get lost in the storm...more

Although fluffy, I found the writing to be not as good as I expected it- at times, the writing was so slow I had to put it down and re-read that section afterward.

The book started good and the storyline is very interesting, but a lot of things are not explained very well. Like how can you fall in love for a few days and things like that.

The end it just wasn't an end there is so much more to be said and done and the story just finished like too soon and I want to know what happens.

And the couch surfing - this is the first time i hear for it and it looks very fun.
And the Australian words are a lot of fun.

This book is about a girl who has to stay in the college dorm for the winter break. Her boyfriend went to Australia via the couchsurfing website and did not tell her that another guy is coming over to stay with her (you can say it’s like an exchange house thing for the winter). Good thing the guy is a very cute and hot guy and they end up falling in love. There was no major fight or anything in the book, it was more of a we-drifted-apart-and-met-someone-else kind of love story. Rating: 4.5 stars

This is a cute book if you just want fluffy romance. There are a lot of plot holes and things that don’t make sense. However, it has some really funny moments. It’s the type of book where you can sit back and not have to think that hard. I actually enjoyed this better when I read it the first time. The characters may be in college, but I feel like the story is catered towards a younger crowd. I remember reading this when I was fifteen and thinking that it was the most awesome thing I’d ever read...more

This was a cute story. Alyssa's boyfriend takes off to Australia to participate in a couch exchange. The Australian will come and sleep on his couch while Alyssa's boyfriend sleeps on his couch. But when the hunky Australian shows up in the US of A he finds the couch he was promised is taken and so Alyssa let's him camp out in her place. Most anyone can figure out what happens from there. Alyssa fights her attraction for the Aussie and we find a cute little story in the mix.

This was a really sweet little story. I loved Jude and his outlook on life. I wish I had an Aussie sleeping on my couch to help me have some fun. I feel like I never really do anything. This was a great romance book for someone who needed something light and fun. I zipped right through it and had a great time reading it. I do think Alyssa is a little crazy to spend her winter break taking classes though. That's just insane.

Suite Dreams is something you'd expect for a winter romance. My only problem with it is some of the cheesiness. Obviously there's cheesy endings to a lot of things that are romance, but out of all of Rachel Hawthorne's books this one impressed me but at the same time didn't.

A must-read for anyone looking for a cute and short book to read, or any fans of Rachel Hawthorne's books.

A funny, light, fast-paced read, these novels are the best. I loved the first meeting between these two characters, and then the chemistry just sparked from there. It was great that everything worked out without any people getting their feelings hurt too much. This book is good for a person who just wants to laugh a little bit without too much emotion in the story.

“The thing I've found about exciting is that it's like fireworks. A big burst of color. It takes your breath away, and then nothing. But something that's always there, while it might not be as exciting, like the stars in the sky, they can still steal your breath.” 13 likes
