A clear and detailed account of the most turbulent time in the history of Nova Scotia. Free from the nationalistic biases and hyperbole that marr too many other books about this period, this well-reasoned volume places the battle for Acadia in the larger context of eighteenth century empire building. It also contains a comprehensive bibliography and review of the relevant literature.
