I like action novels. In this novel, Sydney Sheldon seemed to take more than 3/4 of the book just to set up all the characters. Then, all of a sudden one detective happens to make all the right assumptions, and solves the case. It seemed as though the author got tired of the story and just wanted to hurry up and finish the book; only,I think his readers are more eager then he, to have the book end. The first part of the book was very slow, vague and god knows where it was leading to. I think it was a very moving book and hard t predict in someways. I could not guess the villain until the very last chapters. It has a very strong sense of romance ( a bit predictable but very nice) as well as suspense which is what I like reading in a book. I would recommend it to the readers who would like to read an exciting novel that is hard to put down.

Its sound like those Russian Mafia series and I fell in love with it. I love stories which are catchy and boy is this it. From Russia to Germany, States.....wow nyc stuff baby. The lady Elizabeth was just the perfect character. Strong pretty, rich and when she evolves, that was the most interesting part of it all! A'way now don't think Ican read thriller.

So, so good. It's a one day read, if you want to spend around 5 hours reading. ;] I did. I loved it. I didn't want to put it down. EVER. :] It was really had to figure out who did it. You literally don't know for sure until the very end. Every single person has a motive. I'm so glad Mother recommended it!

I absolutely loved this book. I was just disappointed with the ending, though. I wanted more. I wanted to know more about what happened to Elizabeth's cousins. But all in all, the book was an awesome read. I had fun reading it and it was a page turner. I would definitely recommend it!

i love this book. i think i read it thrice. i love rhys williams a lot. why the hell not?? an example of a man from rags to riches, beautiful and amazing and the old sam roffe..his story is great! the novel is fast-paced and you cannot simply put it down. it is invigoratingly propulsive.

It's ok, but it would be better if Sheldon made a little bit harder for a reader to guess who's "the bad guy". For example, I realized it in first 30 pages. Also, not very original, but since we're talking about Sheldon, that's quite usual and not necessarily to mention.

For once the title made sense and followed the story line. I think the history behind the family was wonderfully developed and quite fascinating to read. The story flowed and came to reasonable conclusion although I thought perhaps it was wrapped up rather quickly.

This is an excellent novel about a family in the drug business, not the illegal kind of drugs either. The book is great thgough not as much so as some of his others. It does beat many of the later books though. A great weekend or airplane read.

I'm not much a fan of Sidney Sheldon but the previous books of his that I've read I had given 5 stars. This one didn't just give such throat constricting suspense or mind boggling twists. Or maybe it wasn't that thrilling because I already took a peek first at the last few chapters.

Typical Sidney Sheldon's style of writing. Unpredictable. You never know how's the ending like until the last few pages! I can't let go of this book even though it was it was burning hot which is not an ideal time to read but still :D

I loved Sidney Sheldon in high school (even before I realized he was involved with "I Dream of Jeannie."). The stories move quickly and were just smutty enough to make a teenager feel decadent.

Another amazing read by Sheldon. Just fantastic. I could not put it down. He put the right amount of characters and their so demanding personalities smack in the middle of mayhem. It kept me guessing all along.This is again an absolutely thrill seeking, keep you guessing on your toes type of drama you just get stuck in. Loved it!
