In the final book of Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, the time has come for youngest son Gregory to choose a wife. Gregory has always been a believer in true love, especially after witnessing his seven siblings all marry for love. So at 26 Gregory decides that he won't just settle for marriage, but he'll wait until he falls in love. Which he does... in a heartbeat with a beautiful girl named Hermione Watson. The only problem is that Hermione is already in love, and that every other eligible gent...more

The final book in the Bridgerton series finds Gregory looking for love in all the wrong places. He sees and is immediately smitten with Hermione Watson, but she's enamored of another and all his attempts at wooing her are thwarted by Hermione's indifference to him. Her friend, Lucy, becomes his ally in his pursuit of Hermione. However, once Hermione is caught with Lucy's brother, compromised, the two are forced to marry. Gregory puts Hermione behind him rather quickly, sharing a kiss with Lucy w...more

(#8 (and final) in the Bridgerton Series)

You know, I can see how some people wouldn't much like Gregory's book, but I did. I LOVED his determination. Because as the author, we know exactly what's happening with the heroine, because we get it from her perspective, so we know exactly what Gregory DOESN'T know. And he could have given up. He REALLY could have. And I about DIED near the end... I was shocked--I didn't expect what happened to happen, you know? But it all turns out right in t...more

OK, starting with Book 8 in a series is a little off-putting. But I wanted some lightweight (both physically and mentally) candy to haul around to medical appointments and read on the exercycle. BTW, hardcovers are too slippery and heavy for that! This quasi-Regency romance was ok, though there was next-to-no descriptions of clothing or social occasions, which is almost necessary for me. Plus the style was overly breathless:

But still she felt...
Uneasy.
And a little bit angry as well.

My good friend Mary-Caitlyn's description of this novel is absolutely correct: It is heartbreaking at times, but that is what makes everything about it so poignant. Don't worry, though, this book stays true to Julia Quinn's other novels and is full of wit, humor and love.

The last book in the Bridgerton series and it happens to be the one I like the LEAST. Honestly, I had to force myself to finish it. Although, if you've read the first 7 you'll have to read this one too...for the sake of completion.

I've gotten a little tired of regency set historicals, but this one kept me turning the pages late into the night. I laughed and cried -- not something many books do for me any more! I'll be reading more of the Bridgerton series.

Sheesh....I'm racking my brain trying to remember all the details of the last few books of the series...all I can remember is that I really liked this one....I suppose that means it's time for some re-reading!

And then...Julia Quinn ends her Bridgerton stories with the worst of the series. Hard, hard, hard to finish this one, but out of loyalty to the series I did. Not recommended unless you are finishing them all.

I was sad that this was the last of the Bridgerton books. I really enjoyed this series. I didn't like Gregory as much as I liked all of the other siblings, so this book wasn't as great as the others to me.

I enjoyed it, largely because I love listening to Simon Prebble, but I couldn't take too many of these romance stories, certainly not more than one in a row.

Pretty good, I guess. Her books really dropped off after Colin's, in my opinion. Hope the new series is good.
