This is an amazing book that I underestimated for a decade.
When I first tried to read it, i was already skeptical because of the sickly sentimentality of the cover (which makes the book look, in the best case, like a christmas book); i skipped the introduction & fairly early came upon Jesus described as "that man with the golden hair"... i couldn't take it and put the book down.
BUT THESE ARE NOT SERIOUS, ENDEMIC PROBLEMS and the book turns out to be enchanting (I did make...more

Originally a series of radio plays aired on the BBC during WWII, these make exceptionally good reading. I especially enjoyed the character studies Sayers includes at the beginning of each play, talking about how she sees that character and the evolution they are going through in the play. In the plays themselves, the characters have such human responses to everything Jesus does, that it makes you think about His life in a totally different way.

This is a series of plays that looks at the life-cycle of Christ. Sayers portrays Christ as human and very real. Judas was also an interesting character development. I thoroughly was entranced with this book, but of course, the parts leading up to Christ's death were sorrowful. I would highly recommend this!

This was originally a radio play written by Dorothy Sayers for the BBC. It is a dramatic rendition of the events of Jesus' life as given in the Gospels and Isaiah. I have not been able to find any audiotape of this play, which is a shame - it is excellent.

A friend recommended this book, and it seemed like a good idea to read it during Lent, as it is scenes from the life of Christ written as radio plays.
