Some plot flaws and the characters needed to be fleshed out more. Some of the actions/reactions seemed out of place and just didn't fit....especially at the time they pop up. If the author had taken her time and developed the story more fully, it would have been good. I have never read anything by this author before and based on this book I will not search out anything more. If by accident or at goodwill I come across something I might give it a read, just to see if she got better.
love this book, nice story, interesting characters except, it felt as if the characters moved too fast..the kisses in the garden just seemed out of charater for barthlomew but still nice story, read it in a day just enough to do with the skirmish with the armstrongs so as to not make it too sappy...a very enjoyable book i highly recomend.
I have read this book twice and enjoyed it each time

As a nice, sane break from the drama and fast pace of working as a registered nurse in an intensive care unit, Margo Maguire returned to college to study history, and fell in love. Writing about the historical characters she encountered in her classes was a good way to unwind from a crazy day in the unit. She soon started creating her own fictional characters and putting them into historical setti ...more
