Wow--what a book! Truly un-put-down-able! If I had the time and was capable of reading a book in one sitting, this would be one of them! This one pushed all my buttons, and had everything I enjoy in a romantic suspense. There's action, sexual tension, romance, hot sex, family problems, regrets, forgiveness, mystery, love, and one big whopper of a surprise ending. (Please, don't ruin it for yourself like I did and 'accidentally' read the last page!) The hero and heroine are fabulously drawn chara ...more

Always Look Twice is my favorite book so far in this great series about the Callahan Brothers. Both the hero and heroine in this novel were very likeable, and I found the story to be intense and emotional. There was plenty of action and a good storyline. I am eagerly looking forward to the next book by this author.

When Mark Callahan crashes a party planning to rescue a family friend from his hometown who is in a bad situation, he is surpised to find a gun held to his back by none other than his

5 stars – Romantic Suspense

As good as the first two books in the Callahan Brothers series are, this third installment is even better and totally blew me away! Where Give Him the Slip and Never Say Never leaned more towards wacky humor mixed with some action and light suspense, the drama, romance, and suspense elements take precedence in Always Look Twice. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Dawson weaved events in such a way as to give the feel of reading a good contemporary romance and a thrilling rom

I found a new favorite author. This was a wonderful romantic suspense with neat characters, good action, suspense and well written. It moves right along and had some surprising twists that I didn't see coming. I like that.

There are a lot of regrets in this book. Making amends for past mistakes and deciding how much a person can take before they have to walk away. I didn't think I would like reading about a couple that worked together, married in secrete, met whenever they could (for sex) around

Overall reaction to this book:

WTF final chapter and WTF overall suspense.

*** mega spoilers ***

The MCs are supposed to be these super trained, cartoon like superhero/superheroine, yet neither could see what poor little untrained (and against any glorification of militarism) me could see a mile off, that the 'gallery girl' was a fake, who had 'suspect' written all over her in bold, fluorescent print. It took two dead bodies, bloody footprints on the floor leading up to 'gallery girl' (being shot

Great who-done-it/reunion romance. Mark and Annabelle were great together and the chemistry between them was smokin'!

Really enjoyed this one and am thrilled to know John Callahan will get his book in her new series under the Emily March pen name! I was worried.

I really liked this book 4.5 stars, but GR wont let us rate 1/2 a star...

Great suspense, great chemistry between the characters. Very good read.

Thanks Kim for recommending

3 stars: Fast paced mystery suspense thriller with some romance

We met Mark Callahan in the earlier books in the series. He is one of the Callahan brothers, sons of Branch, and a former military squad leader. We learned in a previous book that he had been secretly married and his wife had his baby, but they were killed. In this book, we learn that he secretly married again to Anabelle, a former squad member but that they are estranged. They work together to track down a killer targeting their squ

Absolutely fabulous last installment of the trilogy with emotionally-wounded Mark. The heroine is great - a feisty, smart ex-military, who, at the end of the day, just wants a family. There are so many great twists in this story that it just gripped me.

One thing I've really enjoyed about this trilogy is that, yes, the hero/heroine combinations are all specimens of physical perfection but their characters are so well drawn that you get sucked in. None of the heroines are particularly sympatheti

I really enjoyed this novel. I did a lot of crying and a lot of being just a little scared. I loved how the whole family unit worked together to save a daughter of someone who worked for them. And to have a couple who belonged together get back together after thinking that he didn't want to be a parent again and she did. And to make sure that his sister-in-law makes it to the hospital. And having son and father make amends after many years. I would recommend this series to all of my friends. I w ...more

Oh the messes those Callahan Brothers find themselves in. This was another great read by Emily March. She just never disappoints. She knows how to balance adventure, humor, romance and solid, great characters. The storyline never fails to keep you turning the pages. Mark really was touching. You see him deal with his past and deal with the issues he has with his Father. Also him and Annabelle are perfect for each other. She was fits into that crazy family like a glove. Thank you Emily for a grea ...more

Another fun read from Geralyn Dawson. It's a bit of a cliffhanger, however, and she didn't write the fourth book. I recently read that she is writing under a different pen name, Emily March, and has a continuation of sorts due out in Jan 2011. She said she changed her pen name because she's completely changed her style of writing. So the fourth Callahan book isn't a romantic suspense. I'd love to see the story completely tied up, but I guess we'll wait until next year for that!

4.5 stars. Great story, loved the relationship between Annabelle and Mark. It was great. Unfortunately, I had not read the others in the series, but the book had me so hooked by the time I realised it was part of a series, I just wanted to carry on reading.

Now I will give it a little time, and then I will go and read the rest of the series.

Reread and still a 4.5 star read

Started it today, finished it today! WOW! I loved the heroine of this novel, she was so cool--strong,yet not overpoweringly so. She was allowed to be every inch as Alpha as the hero, and I loved every bit of it!

Talk about a shocking cliff hanger ending!

I recommend this series to fans of Nora, and Julie Garwood's Buchanan brothers.

I got this book free from Firstreads. This is my honest review.

Mark is part of the CALLAHAN family of strong, intelligent, and hard headed men from the small town of Brazos Bend, Texas. All the brothers are connected to intelligence agencies and/or military services, and go all over the world getting into trouble and/or getting others out of trouble. But now his old team of "The Fixers" are being target for death. To find the culprit, Mark finds himself reluctantly teaming up with his old teamma

Mark, by Emily March is the story of Mark Callahan, the third Callahan brother (Luke & Matt are the other two). This story is re-release and re-titled from its original publication that Emily March wrote as Geralyn Dawson and titled Always Look Twice.

The story opens with Mark & his two brothers on a mission to rescue a local girl, from Brazos Bend, who is the girlfriend of a major pornographer. While on this mission, Mark encounters Annabelle Monroe, a former team member who is on her o

Mark Callahan . . . is one hard-headed hero
Annabelle . . . is one kick-ass heroine

What a way to end the Callahan trilogy . . . with the mother of all cliff hangers!

While I have (major) issues with Mark, and how he's dealt with a lot of crap from dad . . . I sort of get it. Perceived wrongs, and the ability to hold grudges goes a long way with this brother. (view spoiler)

We learned at the end of the previous book in this series that the hero of this book resents his father more than his brothers because he not only blames dad for the death of a 4th brother, but for the death of his wife and baby. At the beginning of this book, we discover that the dead wife is not the only wife he ever had. He walks into an op he and his brothers are running against the bad guy he blames for killing their dead brother, and runs smack into his ex-wife, the one who divorced him on ...more

I enjoyed this book. It probably deserves a 3.5, but not quite a 4. The hero and heroine are both honourable, likeable characters and strong as individuals, and there were a couple of definite pluses in the book:

-Mark respects Annabelle as a capable woman and doesn't feel the need to be the overbearing macho male all the time. And Annabelle more than once proves herself worthy of respect.

-Both characters have issues and fears that they wrestle with, but it never gets to the point that you want t

Seriously - a cliffhanger at the end of a freakin trilogy??

Other than that major complaint, I found the book to be a fast and enjoyable read. Typically I have a difficult time remembering previous books in a series, as I read quite a few different book in between, but I didn't have an issue with the Callahan Brothers series - kudos to a memorable cast of characters. As for the dynamics of Mark and Annabelle's relationship, I was torn. The hero Mark Callahan left me wanting a bit more in some sit

I actually LOVED this story, it had everything; a great storyline filled with suspense, lots of secondary characters, great sexual tension and of course great sex. The ONE thing i hated and this is why i took 2 stars away is because of the freakin ENDING!!! Ms. Dawson writes in a cliffhanger and then has since decided not to write romantic suspense ANYMORE!!! So i'm asking you, Ms. Dawson on behalf of all your fans that LOVED the Callahan Brothers series; what the hell happened to John???!!! I s ...more

I'm in love with Annabelle. There, it is said. And I don't think there is much more to say about this book. Stubborn Mark with a past he refuses to let go, a past that isn't real. Annabelle trying to refuse the man she loves because it is taking her nowhere, but she has no power.

Oh, love, love, love *happy sigh*

I loved this book! This is the third book in this series and is actually the jumping off point for Emily March's Eternity Springs series.I loved the family dynamics between the Callahan brothers and their family. In this story Mark Callahan and his estranged wife Annabelle find themselves fighting to protect members from their former unit and their families who are getting caught in the crossfire from an unknown threat bent on revenge.
Even though they both don't want to team up they don't have a

This author writes romantic suspense just right! Instead of a short tale told too quickly, the suspense built at a steady pace as the romance between Mark and Annabelle was rekindled and blossomed…with plenty of heat. I was kept on my toes as the suspense built and the Callahans worked as Fixers to protect all of their family members from a devious killer. The twists and turns and surprises kept me flicking the pages as fast as possible from beginning to end…while love worked its wiles toward a ...more
