What a lovely and fun book! I am so sad to see that it does not have any reviews here yet!!!! This is the sweet story of a little girl, her baby brother and her mom as they explore Alaska's great outdoors on the eve of the summer solstice--the longest day of the year in Alaska, where one can celebrate midnight under the bright, bright sun. I've read this a few times with preschoolers and it's a bit of a hard sell. Very little actually happens and the whole concept of the midnight sun has to be explained. It's this last part that does seem to convince them to give it a chance.
