Despite the repetitiveness in some parts - Roarke's library, the dialog between him and Eve - I still enjoyed this installment. Not as good as the previous, Vengeance ID, but still enjoyable because of Robb's ability to keep the pace tight and zipping along like those futuristic cars.
It's getting predictable but I expected this when I started the series a couple of months ago so I'm not complaining just yet. Still, I hope I haven't spoken too soon as there were some lines that seemed taken r...more

This is the 7th in the In Death series.
It is Christmas time in future NY 2058.
Eve finds herself at the crime scene of a woman who was brutally raped and murdered. There is no physical evidence of the perpetrator because he thoroughly cleansed and sanitized his victim before giving her a makeover and leaving her with a temporary tattoo that reads "My True Love" and a pin of a partridge in a pear tree.

The reason I won't give this author (Nora Roberts writing as J.D. Robb) 5-stars is the smut thrown in each book. When reading my first in the series I thought it read like a Sydney Sheldon (rest his soul) novel. Do I sound like Sister Mary Margaret or what? (don't misunderstand me... smut has its place, think "Lipstick Jungle"). I think the sex is tossed in to engage the Nora Roberts audience (as that is what she's famous for, right? Her romance novels). For me, the sex detract...more

Ok, it was recommended by a friend as a quick fun read so I thought I would give the series a shot.
It was a fun read, I'll check the rest of them out. Never thought I would say that but I will.

This is the next in the 'In Death' Series. The deaths have a 12 days of Christmas theme. Each victim answers her door to find a Santa Claus with a special gift.
Eve Dallas finds the link that connect the murders, a personal Dating service, Personally Yours. A brother and sister run the agency. They are very much in love. Are they killing off their own clients? Peabody and McNab go undercover as lonely hearts to try to find the murderer. I love the sparks that are flying off of Peabody wheneve...more

After reading this seventh in the series, I can say the characters have really grown on me. Eve Dallas's character, seemed to me very surface level in the first few books. Though, by book six (Vengence in Death) I was grateful for the depth of her character. She's grown in her relationships with co-workers, friends and her husband Roarke. The series just continues at its steady pace with a solid balance of romance and intrigue.
