It's been a while since I read any of the books in this series so I had kind of forgotten the characters, but I still fell into place with the story quite well. I really enjoyed Libby and Ralph's characters. The add-in of dragons into this book was different from the usual vampire/werewolf paranormal romance books I'm used to reading so that was a nice change, though I still love my vamps the best. This was a really fun, quick read and I'm looking forward to see what happens next with the charac...more
Silly, snarky, and altogether entertaining, "Wait till Your Vampire Gets Home" is Michele Bardsley's latest about Broken Heart, OK. Broken Heart is a paranormal town. When some infected vampires got loose and attacked 11 townspeople, the 'Constortium' bought the town, encouraged the normals to move and helped the new vampires transition into their new life and new jobs. Since then, things just keep getting weirder and now Bardsley has added dragons to the mix!

This series seems to get better and better each book. Each time I declare one best, another one tops it.
This is the fourth instalment of the addicting Broken Heart series. I love the books fun, light feel while making me feel attach at the same time. I would move to Broken Heart Town anytime. IT is the best town there is, I tell you

What I Loved: I really love the continuation of this series and how it is encompassing the books that came before it. The couple in this book were both very lovable and relatively equals (no real alpha/beta). He was a strong male role model: good father, loyal husband (when his wife was alive), and had good priorities. She was a strong, educated, and earthy based person that you could count on. I really just enjoyed watching them fall in love (and no that isn't a spoiler--it is a romance novel L...more
I liked this one better than the last one, thankfully. Patsy irritated me in this one too, though. I just don't like her at all. I wasn't too crazy about Stan's character in here either. I'm glad he ended up marrying Linda, but even that was kind of a let-down. He gets injured, leaves, and comes back the next day married and a vampire. After all the build-up of his non-romance with Linda in the previous books, it seems so unfair that he barely got a blurb in this one when they finally got togeth...more

When I found the first book from The Broken Heart Series not only the title but cover art caught my eye right away. I purchased all of the books the store had at the time. Oh and I failed to mention it was a Friday evening.... I read until my eye wouldn't stay open, laughed out loud, at one point my Husband started to make snarky remarks. I had a book in hand everything where that weekend. By Early Monday morning all five had been read and I had maybe two hours of sleep before work. They are by...more
This is a paranormal romance series with single parents as the heroes/heroines in a town that has been taken over by paranormal creatures. It's a cute, fluffy book, and if you don't might occasional inconsistencies, it's a fun read. This book is about dragons and the single vampire dad with three year old twins and a paranormal investigator named Libby. A whole bunch of new characters join the cast in this book. (Too many, really - it's hard to keep them all straight!) I get the impression that...more
Another good story in this series of books by Michelle Bardsley
Libby Monroe has come to Broken Heart, Oklahoma, with her parents to look for paranormal activity for her job as an investigator with PRIS – she gets more than she bargained for. At the cemetery she is watching single father and new vampire Ralph Genessa as he puts flowers on his wife’s grave. In the next instant they are being attacked by a Zombie, a Wraith who has the taint (a Vampire illness), just when they get over that 2 dragon...more

Okay, so I've read this whole book series. Twice. Yet, this whole series, happens to be one of my favourites. So, I think I'm just gonna be my chaotic self and post them in a weird order! Don't you love me?
So, Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home really is a brilliant book. I couldn't say anything other then that. But it's not a book that you should take seriously. No way. You would definitely be disappointed if you did that. I think I remember reading a few plot holes, but it doesn't damage the boo...more

This is a nice easy read. Lots of action happening with dragons attacking the town. If you're looking for something deep and earth moving probably not what your looking for but for a light reading it's entertaining. A quirky town and entertaining characters. Libby and Ralph were both sweet and I liked that both focused so much on his twin boys. The little boys were pretty cute too. I liked the idea of a paranormal research group stumbling onto the town. Everything stayed pretty much on the surfa...more
Libby Monroe doesn’t know what to expect when her work with Paranormal Research and Investigation Services (P.R.I.S.) leads her to the small Town of Broken Heart, Oklahoma. Libby’s parents are the founders of P.R.I.S. and Libby has been raised believing in the paranormal...

This one was pretty good. It's getting a little over the top, though, even for books of this genre, which are on the wacky side to start with. In the first few pages, our heroine encounters vampires, werewolves, zombies and dragons. Also, Bardsley is getting a bit too flexible on her inter-species rules, as far as inter-relationships, offspring, and abilities. Still, it's light and fun, with a fair amount of drama. I did think the relationship between the lead characters developed a bit too inst...more
This may have been fractionally better than the last one, and perhaps I'll try another, but there are some pretty major annoyances, too. Libby is my least favorite central character so far. She's stupid. I felt the suddenness of the relationship was explained better here than in the last one, but Ralph was not developed as well as he could have been. There are a bunch of new, mostly unnecessary characters. Still, the premise mostly works, in this title and in the series, so I may try again. But...more
This series just keeps getting better and better. Whilst it is a light fluffy read it is also full of fun and likable characters.
This one came with added Dragons which was an unexpected bonus.
Libby Monroe, and her team of PRIS (Paranormal Research & Investigation Service) which includes her parents have decided to stake out the town of Broken Heart and she was assigned the cemetery. Within about 5 minutes she is attacked by a crazed vampire, saved by a zombie, gets hot & bothered by anot...more

Perhaps I’m a bit biased, but I thoroughly enjoyed the fourth installment of the Broken Heart Vampires series.
Michele Bardsley’s Wait till Your Vampire Gets Home focuses on the only single-dad-turned-vampire in Broken Heart, Ralph. I’ll admit I was a bit disappointed when I opened the first page and realized that the story was not told from Ralph’s POV. I don't typically dig on paranormal romance, but I do love this series. I've reviewed two of the three of the series, BECAUSE YOUR VAMPIRE SAID SO and OVER MY DEAD BODY. (my reviews) Michele had me at I'M THE VAMPIRE THAT'S WHY. Excellent premise of a little town in Oklahoma being taken over by supernatural beings for a place to call their own, the shenanigans, some kickass fighting to keep the town and the hot monkey love. It's all tied up in a witty paranormal package that keeps me reading mor...more
Not the highlight of the series.
Libby Monroe comes from a family of paranormal investigators, running PRIS, better aka Paranormal Research and Investigation Services. When PRIS decides to investigate some interesting rumors of paranormal activity near the town of Broken Heart things get wild when Libby is attacked by a zombie, a tainted vampire and gets mixed up in a battle between dragons all in the course of a few minutes. This kind of proof is exactly the sort of thing she needs for PRIS to g...more

Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home is the 4th book in the Broken Heart, Oklahoma series by Michele Bardsley.
The book can be read (and is okay) as a stand alone, but is certainly much better if read in series order.

I might have gone with one star except this was nominally better than the other truly terrible books I skimmed in the last few days. The writing was okay, I guess, but there is just something empty headed about the whole thing, I can't figure out why I'm supposed to care about the paranormal researcher heroine who gets kidnapped by the least scary vamps ever and maybe turned into a dragon, cause she seems really dense and lacking in personality. Maybe I should have gone with that one star.
This book was awful. I hate books where the main character thinks that they are the absolute best thing on the planet because they are pure. Anyone who has sex is BAD. BAD I TELL YOU. I'm pure and virginal. I don't eat meat because I'm a good person. Shut up already. If all of this information had been casually introduced, I could have stomached it. However, it's drilled into you over, and over again. How pure and perfect she is. It was awful.
AWFUL!
AWFUL!
So the fourth installment of the Broken Heart Vampire Series introduces us to Dragons, Half-Dragons, Shape Shifters and Paranormal Investigators.
Libby Monroe comes to town with her parents to investigate the paranormal happenings in Broken Arrow. Libby comes upon Ralph Genessa visiting his belated wife in the cemetery and then a zombie and pair of dragons come swooping down upon them.
What ensues after that is a wild ride that once again had me turning the pages with lightening speed!

This is the 4th book in the series. I'm not sure if its because I read the last book last August, or what, but I had a hard time reading this book. I normally can remember all of the characters in series, but I jusst could not remember anything about the characters in this one. And there wasn't a lot of details reminding you who each character was. Because of this, I just didn't enjoy it as much. And maybe that was my fault. I liked the humor, and the romance (I would love a Ralph of my own!) I...more
Holy smokes what doesn't this book have? It's got everything from the Sidhe, to Wiccans, to vamps, to werewolves, to dragons. It even has some dude who was former ??? alphabet organization for the government with all manner of batman like toys. Man, and Buffy thought Sunnydale was crazy? It has nothing on the town in this book.
Nonstop action and a wild menagerie for a cast. Definitely check it out! I see why it was up for awards!

# 4 Broken Heart Vampires
To prove her journalistic chops, Libby Monroe ends up in Broken Heart, Oklahoma, chasing down bizarre rumors of strange goings-on and finding vampires, lycanthropes, and zombies. She never expects to fall in lust with one of them, but vampire/single dad Ralph Genessa is too irresistible. Only the town is being torn in two by a war between the undead and Libby may be the only thing that can hold Broken Heart together.

So, compared to the first three, this one is pretty boring. Maybe it's that I expected it to be from Ralph's point of view, so I was jaded from the beginning. I didn't really like Libby. I found her annoying and a little preachey. I will grant the possibility that I just wasnt' receptive to this book when I picked it up, and maybe the next time I read it, I'll think more highly of it. Who knows? But, for now, it's my least favorite.
My biggest complaint about these is they read like romance novels. This concern was exacerbated by the fact that this lead characters quirk was the use of the phrase "ack!". Yep, a straight out of Cathy "ack!".
Also, I again was bothered by the constant references to other contemporary tv shows and novels. It made me feel like I was again reading fan fiction, rather then a well done novel.

Ralph and Libby........ absolutely adore these books! It's true that they're an easy read and that I eat them up like candy, but they're funny, sexy, heartwarming and just downright entertaining! I've always loved the added complication of all the vampire leads being single parents - it throws a wrench into the romance to have to consider children - and I love the way the author weaves together the action, the romance, and the family relationships. Perfect!
These are just so fun and light!

This is such a cute and funny series! I like to read these books because they always make me laugh. I just wish they were longer - the font is so big that these books read really quickly. I'd live to see a bit more character development.
That said, this was a cute addition to the series and I'm interested in seeing how dragons play a role in future books.

Nationally bestselling author Michele Bardsley spends her days creating fictional worlds because, let's face it, reality sucks. A prime example is that no one has yet to figure out how to make calorie-free chocolate. What's up with that? She received an associates degree in liberal arts, which was no help whatsoever for becoming a novelist or a decent housekeeper. She lives in Oklahoma with her so...more
