From the heat of an Acapulco night...

Cyn McCall knew she could always count on her late husband's friend and business partner, Worth Lansing. He could make her laugh and forget her problems. She could tease him about his many romantic entanglements. The last thing Cyn expected was to find herself longing for a man who could never settle down.

I have always had a soft spot for books about the Best Friends discovering that they have more feelings for each other than they originally thought. This story complicates that simple plot by adding a widow and a small child into the mix.
Wade is the very lovable bachlor that is fun to read about. He definatley made the story fly by. And his support of his best friend's widow makes him that much more endearing.
I admit that there could have been more complications to the story that just weren't...more

I like friend to lovers story and this fit this theme. The fact I appreciated the most was these two were truly best friends, joking about the hero's success with women, he being there for her when her husband and his best friend died and the best part was that both of them had never harboured feelings of more than friendship before they both take a trip out of town & are thrown in close proximity. This change of environment makes them see each other in a new light with both thinki...more

When I first read the summary of the book I was intrigued. I love friends-to-lovers story, and I like Ms. Brown's older stories so I figured I would like this one as well. Unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case.

Cyn's life hasn't turned out the way she dreamed. Her husband died two years ago, and now she lives with her widowed mother and her son. Nothing interesting happens to her. The only bright thing in her life (besides her son) is her best friend Wroth (who happened to be her husband'...more

This book tells the story of Cyn who lost her husband a couple years back. Her husband's best friend, Worth, takes her on a trip to Acapulco one weekend and they end up sleeping together.

The romance between Cyn and Worth was sweet. I am glad they got the ending that they did. I found their emotions and what they said to each other both realistic and endearing. They made me smile alot. There was a bit of tension between then after they slept together. Cyn felt like she was betraying her husband b...more

This book was a cute book with the theme of be careful what you wish for. Cyn, a widow for 2 years, while eating breakfast with her son and mother made the off hand remark that she wished her life would become more exciting. That day after a bad day at work she stops by her best friend's house, also her dead husband's best friend, to vent and unload. Worth happens to have tickets to Mexico for the weekend, the woman he was supposed to go with had to cancel at the last minute. He managed to talk...more

This was my first experience listening to fiction on CD. I picked this up at the library knowing I had a long drive ahead of me...seventeen hours to Wyoming. It was a good story, and most likely would have been better if I would have been able to read it, thus giving it more attention.

I haven't read a lot of Sandra Brown but what I have read, I've liked. This story was well written with a good story line. Always loved that "best friends discovered they love one another," scenario. Something I'm...more

I've recieved this as goodreads giveaway.

For me this was a quick and enjoyable read. I have a soft spot for romances with complications and misunderstandings and there are more than enough of both in this. All in all this was a bit too fluffy for my taste, though. I think, this novel felt a bit rushed, the characters work through all of the different steps of conflicts with each other, their feelings and other love interests really fast, and there were many stories going on in the background th...more

This book is remniscent of the reason I got hooked on romance novels. It is not a deeply emotional, complex read with multidimensional characters like the books that I read today, but it is nice to be reminded of the simplicity of romance and how sometimes less is more.

I am an ABSOLUTE sucker for "friends turned lovers" books. This is that, but it is also about a man falling for his deceased best-friend's widow. An icky premise, but one that is entirely acceptable by the end of the book.

This i...more

This book was my first from author Sandra Brown. And I was pleasantly pleased to have found a new romance author. This novel was a light-hearted romance that I finished in a couple of hours. It did not have any major weight of issues within, and it provided a great escape into a fun story.

The basic story revolves around Cyn and Worth, best friends from college back when Cyn was dating, then married, Worth's best friend Tim. The three friends seemed to do everything together, and Cyn and Worth's...more

Aku suka banget A Whole New Light ini. Tema temen-jadi-demen gitu lho ... one of my favorite theme.

At...more

Cynthia's husband had died 2 yrs. ago. She had a young son so she didn't go out much if any at all. Her mother came to live with Cynthia and her son after her husband died. Her mother noticed that she rarely went out and enjoy life since she was only 29-30. One day she went to visit her husband's best friend. He was commentating that he had an extra ticket to Acapulco. He had to talk her into going even she didn;t wnat to go. She did and they noticed that they were attracted to each other. She h...more

An easy, good romance story with almost predictable ending. Not her best, but still one of my personal favorite. As this book was first published in early 90s, the characterization (not to mention the fashion, haha) is different than most contemporary romance written today. But don't let that deter you from giving this book a try.

A good book is a good book regardless when it was first released :)

Chick lit...I think it took me an hour to read this one! But it kept my interest...

I've recieved this as goodreads giveaway.

Cyn´s husband died 2 years ago and left her with her son alone. Her mother came to live with Cyn and her son after her husband died.
Worth Lansing, the best friend and business partner of Cyn´s husband, is the only person Cyn knew she could always count. One day Worth offers her an extra ticket to Acapulco. At first she is not enthusiastic about this idea. But finally she decided to accept his offer. But suddenly in the romantic hotel in tropical stars, e...more

My only problem with this funny, sexy book is that Cyn's husband had to die for these two to come together.

I laughed. I teared up a little. I marvelled at how absolutely BLIND Worth had been for YEARS!

This is a great read that is quick, a little predictable, but LOADS of fun!!

A Whole New Light was an easy read, as is most of the books Sandra Brown writes that I have read. I enjoyed this one as I expected I would, Sandra reached into the hidden storages of my brain to expel this lively little number. Enjoyed every moment of its’ words.

Single parenting is never easy, and finding a life after loss is not always easy. Worth should have been skinned a couple of times, but Cyn is in a funk and they wade through their troubles with fury, jibing, and amazing moments of hilarity. Fast and fun!

This was an absolutly fantastic romantic comedy ready. I loved it from the first to the last page. Two life long friends come to the realization, that best friends can become lovers and still stay best friends in the very best of ways.

This is the first simple romance novel I have read in a long time. I enjoyed it. It is certainly not great literature or a fascinating read or anything like that, but it is good light entertainment.

Another quick read to forget about killing and death.
