Good information, poor index. Why are no individual instruments listed in the index? Strange. Presumably a significant portion of the target audience would be performers of various instruments interested in Monteverdi performance practice and historians researching various individual instruments. There are more than a dozen significant entries that discuss trombone, for example, yet the instrument does not turn up in the index (nor under "sackbut," "brass," "instruments," "orchestration," or ...more
