Night Huntress (Otherworld #5)
by
Yasmine Galenorn (Goodreads Author)
We're the D'Artigo sisters: sexy, savvy operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But being half-human, half-Fae means our supernatural talents always go haywire at the wrong time. My sister Camille is a wicked good witch who attracts men like honey attracts flies. Menolly's a vampire who's still getting the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Delilah, a werecat who...more

When ever I pick up an Otherworld book I'm always surprised by how much I enjoy them. Each sister has a fun take on Galenorn's world. Camille is the eldest, then Dehilah, and finally Menolly. This book is from my favorite sister, Delilah, and stands as number 5. I love how the books transition from sister to sister. The plots always merge seamlessly, which is a good thing because there is a lot of plot.

I'm really enjoying this series, it brings back the old days for me, when my girlfriends and I watched Charmed every week. I just have a couple gripes, but I'll admit they aren't keeping me from continuing to read these books. The first one is the over use of the expression "lucked out". Not only is it used too much but too many characters use it which to me makes them seem to have less of an individual voice. I also think it's a little weird how whoever is the narrator for the book is somehow t...more
Fifth in the Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon urban fantasy series revolving around three unusual Fae sisters. The D'Artigo girls. This story is from Delilah's perspective.
My Take
What a load of crap! I really thought Galenorn was improving as a writer and Night Huntress has proved me wrong. Whatever happened to continuity? Oh, wait, I know what happened...this must be a dream sequence that Delilah is having. One in which she sees herself as brave and commanding. 'Cause it sure ain't the impressi...more

I just LOVE this series by Yasmine Galanorn!! She creates multi-dimensional characters and puts them into fully realized paranormal worlds filled with excitement, danger, love and family.
This book focuses on Deliliah, the werecat. She hasn't been my favourite of the sisters so far, but the character experiences a lot in this book and she grows up and matures and I liked her a lot more by the end.
The conflict between the Fae worlds and the mortal world continues, with the sisters and their allies...more

The fifth in the Sisters of the Moon series, "Night Huntress" places us once again in the point of view of middle sister Delilah, as she struggles to sort out her relationship issues in the face of an oncoming potential apocalypse.
Like the previous novel, "Night Huntress" contains a large dose of "middle-of-the-series" syndrome, as at least as much time (if not more) is spent dissecting Delilah's love life as if spent on the search for the spirit seals. This is...more

I like that this series is written as a collection of trilogies - with the narrator of each book being one of the 3 sisters. On the other hand, there isn't a whole lot that makes this series stand out in my mind from any of the other urban fantasy bordering on paranormal romance series out there. The women, of course, are beautiful - and with 3 of them as narrators, you get the curvy woman, the tomboyish one, and the vamp (literally, in this case). All of the men are dark and brooding, and somet...more
I still can't say that I'm hooked on these books..other than the fact that I bought all of them before I read the first one, but they have progressively gotten better. I find that Galenorn over explains and describes to a point that sometimes you can find yourself bored. When I find myself at that type of place in the book, I simply use my speed reading skills and go through it anyway just to make sure that I'm not missing something important. I'll say the same with this one as I did the previou...more
I think I'm officially done with this series. I wasn't a fan of the last installment, and I didn't like this one at all. I kind of liked the ending, but that didn't save it. Things that used to just kind of annoy me here and there about the writing now make it barely readable to me. Like the author's tendency to stop explaining what's happening to give a complete run-down of what everyone's wearing down to the last detail. And cheesy lines like, "My sisters and I and a ragtag bunch of friends ar...more

I recommend this book, because its a cool book. The book is very interesting book to read.I liked the book because in some parts it was exciting.the book was about demons. the demons were trying to get the people.the demons were trying to hunt them down so they can take another spirit. the demons had took a spirit from them an they were trying to get it back. but then the demons were trying to take there life away. the demons could do someting to them an kill them right away. but later on in the...more
There's just something about this series that keeps me hooked. I can't quite put my finger on it. This series has some serious flaws to it at times, one of which is the ongoing feeling that eventually it's going to stretch itself far too thin ala Anita Blake, at the cost of the enjoyment of the series as a whole. However Night Huntress is fairly good and so far, the slow release of overall plot development has worked in the series' favor.

* I really enjoy the world of the books and it keeps getting richer with every book.
* I like the main characters, the D'Artigo sisters. They are complex, well-rounded people. They are also remarkably well-adjusted emotionally, but I think that's because they have each other for support. It's nice to have that kind of family d...more

I really wanted to give this book a three star because I wanted to slap Delilah for her reactions to Chase. I also wanted to slap both of her sisters for their advice. In the long run I guess I have to go with four because I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. So far I can say that of all the sisters I think I have found Delilah to be my favorite. In this book I can also say that more than any other component of the storyline was the relationship with Chase. From th...more

Okay, first let me tell you that I've read this book before any of the others in this series and am totally off balance about what the story is about. But since I pretty much never read series in the order it is , not knowing what happens before doesn't bother me much. Anyway, unlike other paranormal stories it doesn't follow any one creature race , but instead has every creature you can think about and more. I mean seriously, Were-killerwhale??? This was the fifth installment in the Otherworld series. It was from Delilah's perspective, which by far is one of my favorite of the D'Artigo sisters. This book has some strange twists in it. For Delilah some good and some really bad, there is the fourth seal that is found and need to be recovered. Chase muttering another's name in his sleep! And oh what a s*** pickle she's getting into with the Autumn Lord. Then Karvanak has returned and with it causing huge trouble! Delilah will have to save...more

I thought this book was excellent, and I think of all the sisters I like Delilah the most. I'm really interested in how the Death Maiden aspect plays out. That should make for excellent storyline development.
However, for the love of Bast :) why oh why does Delilah love Chase??? Because he's an FBH like her mother or what?! Especially with the reason for Chase's embarrassing ill-behavior: because he's just a pig! His betrayal had been going on for weeks, yet Delilah suddenly forgives C...more

The half-fae DArtigo sisters continue their hunt for the spirit seals in order to prevent the demonic forces opening a gate for demons to pour into Earth. At the same time they are helping in the civil war between the fae in the Otherworld.

I recently picked up a copy of this 5th book in the Sisters of the Moon series and I have to report, much about this character hasn’t changed.
Delilah D’Artigo (if you haven’t read this series before) is a part human, part Fae, werecat. Who, along with her two sisters ( Camille – who’s a witch and Menolly - a Vampire) are in the battle for all of our lives. Demons led by an evil commander named Shadow Wing are trying to open a door between their world and the other worlds with the intention of en...more

Talk about an awesome read - this is another one! I absolutely loved every minute of this story and totally lost myself in what was going on. Delilah and her sisters are once again thrown into an array of impossible situations trying to ensure that all of their friends stay safe, and the demons don't beat them to the Spirit Seals. Awesome!

I think I've finally worked out the things that annoy me about this series, because the premise is quite interesting, yet it just doesn't grab me as I think it should. First, it's the way everything is explained, in fact everything is over-explained. Too much explanation and too little action. Something as simple as hearing the dog bark next-door, and we have to know about the breed of dog, the personality, if it goes for walkies, the fact that it sometimes does its business in the wrong yard, w...more
The D'Artigo sisters are back for the fifth time with werecat Delilah to tell the story. With four previous stories there's a lot of background that has lead us up to this latest adventure. In short the three sisters have come to Earth from their home in Otherworld, have become Earth's protectors from the demons of the Sub-Realms and made some interesting friends and enemies along the way. Delilah was marked by the Autumn Lord in Changeling. Becoming his only living Death Maiden she has gained t...more
Yasmine Galenorn's world settles in a bit with "Night Huntress". She doesn't introduce any new characters in this latest novel of her 'Sisters of the Moon' series, but instead she expands the parameters and relationships of the middle sister, Delilah. While Delilah's first book "Changeling" was more about the sisters' overall mission and Delilah's romance, this book is about Delilah coming to terms with her non-humanity and what that means to her lover. I found the book fascinating from that per...more
Don't ask me why I keep reading these. They are kind of a filler when I am out of 1st reads and can't find any thing else to get. But that is one stupid reason to spend money on something! Ah, well.
I really like the premise of the stories. I don't care for the delivery that well. I guess I would have to say that I do want to see what happens...if only I didn't have to read the "Whaaa????" (all those annoying pieces and inconsistencies that just boggles the mind) to get to the 'what happens'.

Recommends it for:
no one i'm acutually angry that i paid for it
maybe because i haven't read the other books in the series is why i didn't like it but i think it was just a bad book. the action was less than satisfying the characters might as well not have know each other at all there is no connection, no common bond. after 230 excruciating pages i finally gave up reading every word and decided to just skim the ending to satisfy my need of completing everything i start. the ending was more predictable then the toppings on a peperoni pizza i mean it was unins...more
Okay so Delila isn't my favorite character. But mostly because she cant really get it through her head that their at war and in war there must be death. I mean its like she understands it but she really hates and she shows it. Now maybe its just me but I don't think your supposed to show that you hate fighting whilst in a fight. but overall I liked the book and how Delilah's character seems to be developing.
I thought this book was okay. I like the characters a lot, just not the story. To be fair I've kind of skipped around in the series and maybe reading some of the others would round it out some. I have the hardest time trying to envision humanity on earth just accepting vampire bars, fairy queens and all the rest. How that came about being would probably be a more enticing story for me.

“First, I had no idea you were married. Somehow, I don't think Trillian knows, either."
"I married Smoky and Morio to forge a soul bond so I could use their powers to search for Trillian, since we thought he was captured and in danger." She stopped, blanching. "You mean I got married for no reason?"
Smoky cleared his throat. "I think we've just been insulted," he said.
Morio sniggered. "Sounds like it.”
