The text is pretty corny, but kids get a kick out of me yellin' "Yee-haw! and shoutin' other bits out of the dialoge.

What I really like the painted wood sculpture illustrations, there is something vaguely Brokeback Mountain about them.

This book is not a great choice for Storytime (0-5) as it is quite short and the pictures are quite simple as well; it is over way too quick. A couple of the kids commented why the cowboy and horses looked 'wierd'.
