A very interesting book which could be valuable in pretty much any and every profession or just life in general. The book uses psychology as a way to help you 'read' people or figure out what they are really thinking regardless of what they may say. It does not go deeply into the psychology behind the tactics it offers, which is something I wish it did elaborate on more, so for someone not interested in psychology in general or is bored by it- it may be good for them as a practical book. Has a lot of good info, but it seems like it would take a significant amount of work and practice to even begin to see most things. I like how he brings up ways to get an answer without having to ask the direct question. There are also a few little tricks to make the guilty person think they are gonna get by, but then they get caught because of a twist. That kinda stuff is pretty neat! I listened to the audio book version of this book, which I believe is read by the author. While interesting, the book assumes the reader has an advanced knowledge of the subject matter and does not go into very much elementary detail on topics such as eye movement, body language, etc. This was my first book of this kind and I was a bit lost at times, and had to "rewind" sections to have a second take on his points. Overall a good book. I give it 3 out of 5.
I wasn't all that impressed with the first few chapters, but after that, I thought it was fascinating, perceptive, and dead on. I LOVED the correlations he drew between behavior and self-esteem verses ego, confidence, etc. This book is jam-packed with information considering its small size. Excellent book. The author is clearly very smart and his techniques on reading people and why they do things is genius. His techniques will help you in your business and personal life no matter what your profession is. However, the information in the book comes at you fast and it is difficult to retain what you have read. But it is still and excellent read and a great book for reference.
The suggestions for "testing" people to see whether they're lying or lack confidence or other such things remind me of half-baked Zack Morris schemes. They're silly and unlikely to yield useful information.

This is an interesting book that applies psychological principles to the reading and understanding others. It's easy to read and has examples that get to the point. The methods and logic presented are far from bulletproof but are useful nonetheless. This is my second read of the book and I consider a useful reference book.
not many books would entice you to read twice. this is one of the rare ones ( you have to anyway, coz the tactics are quite specific)

this is a fascinating book, very sensible and "obvious" as you read the examples given. if applied, shows you much more about your interactions with others as well as tells you more about yourself based on your own reactions.
actually this book just confirmed mostly what i already know and how to look for it in others. although i did learn a few new things with this book, i already knew the majority. so 2 stars.
I listened to this book on audio, knowing that this would probably be difficult to follow as I need visual cues, and I was right. However, what surprised me, in the last 90 minutes or so of this audio, the author (in my opinion) deviates from reading body language to the drives of body, soul, and ego needs as source of personality and behaviors. A very interesting read. The first section was very applicable and pragmatic for every day situations, but I found the second section to be a little too theoretical for my liking.
Interesting book. Shows you technics on how to subtly read people's reactions and body language so that you will not be taken advantage of ever again.
I don't think the title could have lead me on more. The strategies were obvious and those that weren't didnt make a lot of sense. It was an ok read at the best.
It was not nearly as difinitive a system for reading people as I was expecting. It had one good takeaway, but other than that, I didn't find it very useful at all.

This book contradicts itself too often to be useful. I could barely get through it.
In parts all right, not much here that I didn't already know about. And I believe the title is a little misleading. The last part of the book was so dull, and so not to the point, I had to skip through huge chunks of it. Best spend your time on something else...
Great book, with some different insight into reading people independent of body language. I learned a lot!
Pretty good, but not easy to apply. Looking forward to reading a similar one.
