I used this book in the guided reading lesson for text participation and comprehension . The second grader loved the book. It is based off chicken soup for little souls by Jack canfield. The book has a bully in it whose dog was died the children did not want to go visit him but they did and they turned his heart around. Great book . I own a copy .

There is a painting in this book that is so beautifully poignant. The antagonist greets children at the door after his dog has just died, the artist absolutly captures the moment. The expression on the boys face is both tough and vulnerable, check it out. I read this story to my sunday school class, very good.

This was one of my mother's favourite books to read to us as children and it was also a favourite for her to read to the Sunday School group. It has a great message!

This was a nice story. Not remarkably well written, but nice. It will be good for the character lesson when the word is kindness.
