In the second installment of the VAMPIRE BEACH series, Jason Freeman is still coming to grips with the fact that the popular kids at his new Malibu high school are all vampires. And why shouldn't the vamps be popular? They're beautiful and rich, and they throw the best parties. But Jason knows those parties are simply an excuse to drink blood from unwitting human guests. It's true that the humans aren't hurt, the vampires need blood to survive,...more

One word : Unexpected.

I love the first book of the series, and who knew that the second one would grip me to the extent that I can't seem to put it down even though I'm 5 minutes away from school, not until I reached the last page, not until I know what happened in the end.

That might sound a bit of an exaggeration, but I just wanted to emphasize on how much I love this book. Compared to the first one, Initiation was filled with a much more fast paced plot, now that we know about the vampires i...more

*REVIEWED FOR PUBLISHER*

This sassy, sexy sequel is just as fast-paced, edgy and cool as the first book, Vampire Beach: Bloodlust – if the characters were any more hip, they’d be perpetually pelvic! Yet, there’s more of a human side shown in the vampires this time round – they might be the cool kids, but they have problems too, and it’s not necessarily the blood-drinkers that cause all the trouble. This is exactly the kind of brash, bold book that teens will love to get their teeth into (if you’l...more

*Four and a half stars*

Building on the first book, we continue on in Malibu, CA, hanging out with Jason and his vamipiric friends. When his old friend from Michigan arrives unexpectedly, chaos ensues.

While there are some pacing issues (although minor and not too bad), this second book in the Vampire Beach series is engaging and interesting. You learn more about Jason and Sienna in this installment and watch their attraction for one another grow. You also find out more about the vampires of DeVe...more

When Jason’s friend, Tyler came to visit him, Tyler stole a chalice from the vampires. The chalice was very important for all vampire families. Tyler was endangered, the vampires tried to kill him. Jason did anything he could do to save his friend. He knew the power of vampire, they have the power to kill a person. Jason didn’t care what would happen to him, he just wanted to save his friend. From here, I can see how much Jason values his friendship. Also Jason found out that his aunt was a vamp...more

This one was a bit better then the first one. It actually had a story line one could relate too. It involved old friends returning, teens and drugs and the problems from all of them. Just throw the mix in with a bunch of vampires and you have real problems. I can see these books as a teenage drama tv show that would come on cable or something. This one was better but still only 3 stars from me. An OK... ;)

definately a YA read. Good easy read, and the characters are funny and interesting. Good story, but maybe the 6 books should have been combined into 2 books for a better more in depth story.

Everything's so idyllic, it was so much fun to read, it really helped me to like, be drawn in and really escape from reality and stuff.

Good book. His friend was a loser for coming and bringing bad stuff to Jason and his family. Then getting mad at Jason for caring. Oh well.

Think old 90210 meets vampires and I think you may have the idea of this book. It is a good, light teen read. I liked it.
