This book was just as good as the first one. Jason continued is friendship with his vampire friends and continues on the swim team. Adam is still is best friend and his side kick. While everyone is getting ready for school vacation Jason got a surprise vist from his friend Tyler.

One word : Unexpected.
I love the first book of the series, and who knew that the second one would grip me to the extent that I can't seem to put it down even though I'm 5 minutes away from school, not until I reached the last page, not until I know what happened in the end.
That might sound a bit of an exaggeration, but I just wanted to emphasize on how much I love this book. Compared to the first one, Initiation was filled with a much more fast paced plot, now that we know about the vampires i...more

When Jason’s friend, Tyler came to visit him, Tyler stole a chalice from the vampires. The chalice was very important for all vampire families. Tyler was endangered, the vampires tried to kill him. This one was a bit better then the first one. It actually had a story line one could relate too. It involved old friends returning, teens and drugs and the problems from all of them. Just throw the mix in with a bunch of vampires and you have real problems. I can see these books as a teenage drama tv show that would come on cable or something. This one was better but still only 3 stars from me. An OK... ;)
In this book in the vampire beach series the protagonists friend comes to visit and steals from the vampiers. Then that takes a bad turn but the protagonists aunt was behind all of it. what he didnt know was that she was not born a vampire she choose to turn to a vampire becuase of her late husband who was had of the vampire council hich she took over after his death.

I started to read this book and I found myself being really bored! I ended up putting the book down because I wasn't impressed. I would recommened the first one, but not this one. I didn't like this one.
definately a YA read. Good easy read, and the characters are funny and interesting. Good story, but maybe the 6 books should have been combined into 2 books for a better more in depth story.
i liked this book. it didnt take me long to read this, and it was worth my time. i;m glad that i can finally read the second book of the vampire beach series. cant wait to read the next book:]

Totally AMAZING!!! :) I can't wait to find out what happens with Jason, Dani, Tyler, and the entire Vampire clan in Malibu :P Including! Bianca!?!
Everything's so idyllic, it was so much fun to read, it really helped me to like, be drawn in and really escape from reality and stuff.
Good book. His friend was a loser for coming and bringing bad stuff to Jason and his family. Then getting mad at Jason for caring. Oh well.
Think old 90210 meets vampires and I think you may have the idea of this book. It is a good, light teen read. I liked it.
this one was as good as the first but dont read this one if you haven't read the first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although this book didnt have as much to do about Vampires I still enjoyed it!
I really liked this book, but not quite as much as the first one.
Likable characters, fast and fun read, and worth your time.
