I love Kleven's art, and I love San Francisco. I therefore expected to love this book. I did enjoy it, but not as much as other things she's illustrated. This book, all about San Francisco, opens with a timeline explaining how the city came to be. An informational book on San Francisco. I loved this book! As an avid traveller, I also enjoy reading about different places I've never been before. This book introduced a lot of great spots on San Francisco I never knew about, and definitely increased my desire to visit there!

My 3rd grader read this after our outing to San Francisco's Chinatown. Did you know there are old ships of the settlers under the streets of SF?

Wonderful illustrations. The text did not do much for me. Mostly ignored it and talked about the illustrations with my son.

The artwork in this book is beautiful. Proceeds go to a good cause as well! Children and adults will find it a great souvenir from the city or an entertaining way to learn a little more about San Francisco.
