I only read this book at the suggestion of a mentor. When I went and picked it up, I didn't read the back cover of it, or the subtitles or anything else, so when I got home and saw the reference to "Abraham" on the front cover, I was very skeptical about it. I didn't want to get sucked into a book of a religious bent.
Turns out, it was even weirder than that. Don't stop here, though. Read on!

I ran out of time to finish this book, but I did get about halfway through before it became overdue. Once you get past the initial weirdness & into the Q&A part, it does get interesting, if repetitive. I completely believe in the power of thought and attitude to alter our perception of reality. Under certain conditions, I somewhat believe in their assertion that thought can actually alter reality. I have a very hard time believing their assertion that absolutely everything in your li...more

I thought it was a good book. My mother has been very into ghosts and Sylvia Browne-style things for as long as I can remember, so the channeling thing didn't really phase me, hehe. I think that even those who don't necessarily believe that you can have anything you want in life can still appreciate the virtues of positive thinking and trusting your emotions.
The only thing that I didn't really enjoy was all the repetition. It felt like I kept reading certain parts and examples over and over...more

the processes are great tools for life. i don't get why it has to be presented via this channeling, which i think makes it weird. and i'm all for esotericism, i just don't feel like it fits or is necessary or really good or relevant here. there is some unique material here: if not original in concept at least it is original in organization/segmentation/packaging/processizing. read it, appreciate that the channeling is there for those that it works for, understand the emotional scale, believe...more

This book definitely requires an open mind, but I recommend it to anyone who wants a better understanding of the Law of Attraction. This book provides a more in depth description of this universal law which I was introduced to through The Secret. The introduction of the book describes how the author's wife channels the non-physical Abraham, and it is Abraham who answers questions throughout the book. This concept may be too much for some, but the information contained within the book is ...more

Not sure what to make of this book just yet. It seems like it has good insights to offer, but the way it is presented is rather strange. The book was supposedly "channeled" through a sort of spiritual guide and not "written" by the authors. While I am not denying that this was the case, so far I have read books that were MORE enlightening and were NOT channeled. But I will update again when I am done with the book.

This book started off a little weird for my taste. Once I passed the part that explained how all of the information came about, I was really impressed with the information about the Law of Attraction and other universal laws. I am using things that I learned in this book daily and it has changed my perspective on me and others for the better. I would recommend it if you can read with an open mind and just get past the first part and into the meat of what the book is really about.

This book was very strange for me ----but, it really made me see how our thoughts are energy and that positive will attract more positive and negative will attract more negative. He says the book was channeled through him from a spirit on the other side named Abraham. I don't know about all of that - but I do believe that our thoughts are powerful and attract more like them.

I really love this book, BUT I had to keep reminding myself throughout, that we can't control all our thoughts and therefore do attract SOME things in our lives without control. This book suggests we have complete control over what we bring into our lives. I say we all have blind spots and can't control ALL of our life circumstances, or what other people around us choose to do.

Fans of 'Ask and It Is Given'
This book continues with the same information as 'Ask and It Is Given' and 'The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent.' However, it really doesn't offer any NEW information. It's still great reinforcement for improving your life, but it's not as powerful as the other books, in my opinion.

Ok in terms of clarity and emphasis on using techniques to guide your thinking away from negativity... however i find that it fails to address the underpinnings of repetitive, negative emotions, which are most often beliefs. The Seth material goes into this, which I appreciate.

This was the first Abraham-Hicks book that I read -- and I read it right after I saw the movie "The Secret" the original one which contained Esther. This book is a great introduction to the Law of Attraction and deliberate creation. I love it!

I think there is definitely some merit in the principles of the law of attraction, but the authors took it too far with their "revelations" from a higher being. If you can ignore that part of it there were some interesting concepts.

I really enjoy reading books written by Esther and Jerry Hicks (The Teachings of Abraham). I have read several of their books and have seen them at seminars. They are fabulous. Very inspirational and very motivational.

Basic premise is o.k., but when they add the channeling junk I got really suspicious. There are a lot better books in this area, such as The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

much like "Ask and it is Given", the authors repeat the same concepts over and over. Though I like the idea of what the book is about, it could have been written a bit better.

I liked this because it talks about how much we control whether we are being positive or negative. I have a lot of friends that i think would emjoy or at least benefit from it.

This is an amazing book! I love it. I'm nearly finished and I'd recommend it to anyone. It's a step-by-step how-to for using the Law of Attraction effectively. It's amazing!

Just began this. It is being added to the many, many books on Universal Law that I have read. At first I resisted afraid it would be commercial like The Secret. We'll see...
