Great book. Oft maligned and persecuted - simply misunderstood. Magical critters. Tricksters. Adaptable to whatever man and nature can throw at them. Survivors.

i.e: Coyotes were killed in great number to protect farmlands, the farmlands became overrun with rodents, the farms suffered great and devastating losses due to rodent infestation. Coyotes were reintroduced and nature regained balance.

It is my opinion that a person who kills coyotes simply for the enjoyment of killing, isn't much at all.

Excellent book on the ecology, behavior and habits of the 'God's Dog' in both historic and modern North America. Highly recommended for wildlife fans, canid fans or naturalists.
