The second book in Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress is a bit tricky to review. I liked it...mostly.

Eden Black is a Raka...an alien both prized and hunted for their golden skin and hair. A sensual, peaceful race, the Raka are very rarely found on Earth. When a very young Eden's parents are killed, she is adopted and raised by a Michael Black, a leading operative in the war against violent aliens. To earn her adopted father's respect, a once pampered princess Eden trains with Michael's men, and bec...more
I liked this one better than the first. Something hit home for me on this one. Lucius was HOT!! That man was a jerk but he was so possessive of Eden , how can you not love that?. Their banter back and forth was truly funny. New characters were introduced and I have to say that I wanted to hate Delvyn in the beginning but at the end I loved him . Hope that there is more of him later in the series . Another great book.
Enslave Me Sweetly is the second book in Gena Showalter's fantastic Alien Huntress series. Set in the same futuristic world as Awaken Me Darkly, this story takes part in a different area of the United States and within a different government organization, so it is able to stand on its own. Eden Black is an assassin for a company owned by her adoptive father, Michael, that operates even farther outside of the law than A.I.R. The government turns to Michael's company when they need an alien assass...more
The title and picture on the cover is kinda a misnomer- you'd think this is one of those books about kink but isnt. It's better.

The heroine is an alien raised by a human who hunts alien baddies.

Attempting to prove herself to the man who raised her as daughter, she really wants to catch the off worlder sex trafficker who is capturing females- human and alien- and selling them to the highest bidder.

In her first attempt, she failed...bigtime. Desperatly wanting to make up for it, she talks her fa...more

I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, specially after the first book in the series was ok to me, but I loved this one. Where can I start, the characters were amazing. Eden Back is an otherworlder that has been raised on Earth. Her skin, eyes and hair are gold. And she's an assassin of otherworlder criminals. She is then partnered against her will with Lucius, a human very hot alpha male to kill her target EenLi, an otherworlder who is kidnapping human women (mostly) and auctio...more

Okay.. This book is awesome! I was laughing the entire time while reading this one. But the story has a dept to it as well. The plot, the characters, everything was well written and well put together. I was actually in suspense the last 5 chapters of this one. The Targon King, Devyn, okay Cynthia and Leah, YES HE'S FINE!!! But he was such a Bastard! But the King, U can't help but love. He grows on U immediately. JERK MONKEY! But Lucious and Eden are my Couple. Lucious is my dude.. U really belie...more
Alien Huntress book number two was pretty good I don't think it was as good as the other 3 books that I read for this series but it did give me all the info I needed on Eden and Lucius which appeared in the other books that I liked so much so it was worth reading... This book is about Eden, an orphaned alien who works as an agent and assassin. When she fails in her mission to kill a human slaver, she must team up with Lucius, a fellow agent, to finish the job. But Eden get more then she bargains...more

I read the first Alien Huntress book a good while back so when I decided to pick the series up again, it took a little bit for me to remember the universe Ms. Showalter has created. I'm pleased to say though that this installment (as a vast majority of her books) did not disappoint.

Enslave Me Sweetly focuses on Eden, an Earth-born Raka who works as a small-time assassin for the government. With golden skin and hair, she's basically a walking hunk of money so loads of people seem to want a piece...more

Phineas Gaylord Hargrove and Eden Fucking Black lol great names. Gena Showalter has done it again, I have to say that I love this book better then the first. I love the heroine Eden, she's a kick ass female who gets what she wants and I love that about her. Now to the good part Mr. Oh so sexy Lucius, what can I say about him expect he's hot? No that doesn't sum him up, Lucius is a kick ass take no names guy and I fell in love with him from the beginning. Love the relationship between him and Ede...more
3.5 stars (almost 4)

Ok, so the reason for why I think I'm not being able to rate the books in this series any higher is that we only get one POV. I do like this but at the same time I despise it. I enjoyed reading from the heroine's POV because we really get to know her and it feels like you are really a part of every little thing that is going on. On the other hand, you never really get the sensation that you actually get to know the characters because you never know what they are thinking or p...more
As far as paranormal romances go, Showalter definitely used a lot of imagination for this series... (it would be promptly obvious that I haven't read the first installment. So there.)

The fact that this story is not another one of those vampire-romances (are we done with those, yet?) warrants a semblance of appreciation for its attempt to be ingenious in matters of plot.

Plus, the sexual tension between the couple is at a healthy level. That's good enough for me if a quick, entertaining romance re...more
I love Gena Showalter's LOTU series but so far her alien huntress series has yet to impress me. There is something about reading PNR in first person that just disinterests me.

In this book we have Eden Black, who works for her adopted father as an assassin. Basically, she is sent to kill aliens or humans that other government sects cannot. Like A.I.R. can't kill humans, so she would be sent in. Anyways Eden misses killing her target, EenLi, and instead is injured herself. When she wakes up, after...more
I recommend you read the first book in the series, Awaken Me Darkly before reading this book. However, the back story on Eden and the character development were so thoroughly detailed, that this story was complete enough to be a stand alone. I really enjoyed this book and read it all in one day. This series didn't take long to worm its way into being one of my favorite series. This installment started off a bit slow. In the beginning Eden and Lucius seemed to be doing more romancing than investi...more
This book was just as good as the first book if not better in my opinion. It's set in the same world as Awaken Me Darkly, but moves from New Chicago to New Dallas with a whole new group of bad guy fighters. This time the heroine is an alien herself though she was born on earth and adopted by a human man.

Eden, contrary to her alien race, is a tough assassin and fighter doing what she can to keep people safe from aliens who seek to exploit them. Eden has been tasked to break a slave ring. Her firs...more

I loved the characters of this book. I even loved the woman collecting Targon King Devyn. He seems like he will be an awesome lead male to read. Eden and Lucius go undercover to bring down a slave trading, person-napping other worlder. At the beginning of the book Eden had the human trafficker in her grasp but misses the shot and becomes injured herself. Eden's father (without her knowledge) hires Lucius (Agent Luscious) to keep her out of harm’s way. From the moment they are put together they...more
First, let me say how much I loved the world that the author built. Very cool. I hope I can read more of Showalter's Alien Huntress series. The plot was fast-paced and extremely fun with some nice little steamy scenes thrown in for good measure.
The reason I didn't rate it any higher than I did was because the writing seemed clunky. Really clunky. I know the author writes several series, so maybe she's just churning them out a little too fast? I'm not sure, but there were several times that I lo...more

Eden F Black is a Raka. Her skin and hair are golden. Humans have hunted her kind for their skin and hair. Her parents were killed when she was young and she is raised by a human who invents weapons and hires his people out as assassins. As she reaches adult hood she asks to train with her father and his men. Because he wants her to be able to defend herself he agrees. But then she wants to go on assignments. Well, I must say, this book was FABULOUS! I loved the hero and didn't want to slap the heroine, which is more than I can say for most books, LOL. Lucius was just awesome.

On the other hand, though, I was disappointed that events from the previous book were only mentioned once in passing. We've been promised some Kyrin and Mia as well as Lucius and Eden in the next book, though, which I am most definitely looking forward to :)

So far I think I liked this one the best of the series. In this book we meet Eden Black (female)alien assasin and daughter of the boss, Michael.
After being injured, she can only gather glimpses of a man... pine scent... hard muscles...carrying her, taking care of her? Who is this man? Meet Lucius, Tall, dark, ripped and dripping intocicating sexual sinew. Yum. oh and he's her new partner...

A good read!
Eden Black is a Rakan, one of the last of her kind, working as an assassin for her adopted father's private security company. They are trying to shut down a ring of slave traders, and Eden has to act as bait. She doesn't want a partner in this endeavor, but her father insists Lucius help her out. The two chase the bad guys and fall in love. Eden is badass and Lucius is luscious. The plotting is suspenseful and secondary characters are well-drawn. This is not a hastily thrown together submission...more

Eden is a Raka, a sensual planet where the people are golden in appearance. But unlike her people, she is a trained assassin that will do anything to finish a job and save lives. She is partnered with Lucius, and eventhough they have opposing pov at first, they worked and eventually fall in love with each other. The case they're working on is really difficult but they managed to solve it with the help of another alien. Anyway, the chemistry between them is really noticable, and with the blend of...more
Pheeewweee! I inhaled this book. Glory hallelujah, finally, a good book! The first book was good too. This one just tipped the scales into my top notch category. Dare I hope to have stumbled upon a good series??? About time.

Ok, the book. I was reluctant at first and had pretty low expectations. It didn't have any of the characters from the first book, and I liked all the guys from that one and had even made nice with the heroine. This book had a human as a hero. That didn't impress me much. I li...more

Eden Black is a Raka who was adopted by her human father Michael. She has always been spoiled and getting everything that she wants. As she gets older she started to want Michael’s love and respect. The same respect that he gave all his employees that work for him. Eden starts working out and learning about A.I.R. Eventually, she started to want to do missions and it became more about helping humans and aliens, then trying to gain her father’s attention. She starts to work the simple jobs and wa...more

I didn't care for the sophomore effort of this series as much as I enjoyed the origin story mainly because I was over the heroine on page 2. That being said this installment takes a page from agent Eden F. Black as she and her partner Lucius Adaire try to break a human trafficking ring that also traffics in aliens and will transport your "goods" to a world that doesn't have an extradition treaty with our world.
I thought Eden was too whiny and self-involved for me to enjoy her characte...more

Wow, I thought Awaken Me Darkly was a terrific Alien Huntress novel. It couldn't possibly get better, right? Wrong! This is the second Alien book and boy was it awesome!

Eden Black is an Assassin. Also happens to be an alien, from the Raka race -- beautiful, golden skin and hair, sensual and very sought-after since they're rare on Earth. She used to be a spoilt princess but is now a deadly assassin who can definitely take care of herself. Boy can she kick butt! But when her latest target, EenLi,...more

Gena Showalter’s “Enslave Me Sweetly” is the second book in her Alien Huntress series. Our heroine is Eden, a beautiful alien, and something like a government assassin. Her boss, who also happens to be her dad, teams her up with cocky and deadly agent Lucius. The pair butt heads, but of course, sexual tension simmers beneath the surface. The two go undercover, to crack open a human-slavery ring and fall for each other in the process.

Our book kicks off with Eden trying to take down...more

This series is unique, entertaining, and makes for some quick reading. And really, what's not to like?

Alien assassin? Check.
Female lead who knows how to kick some butt? Check.
Steamy romance? Check.

These books contain pretty much all I ask for in a paranormal romance.

The plot was suspenseful and interesting. The story moves at a perfect pace and definitely causes the "just one more chapter" syndrome. I was sad that it Enslave Me Sweetly doesn't have a strong connection to the Awaken Me Darkly sto...more
