An estimable story for those who have wondered about the one that got away. Nathalie is dealing with infertility and her emotions are running high at the exact time that Evan re-enters her life and turns her world on it's side. Not only by his presence but by his secrets that she has yet to discover. A genuine look at a possible senerio that many woman can relate to. I was truly attached to the characters and felt Nathalie's heartbreak and hope. A slight feeing of sadness lags throughout but onl...more

"Be My Hero" by Nell Dixon was a good read that had a real subject that was address: 'Fertility.' We find that Natalie is thirty struggling with fertility medical problems. Natalie is not only facing health problems but after Evans enters her life again only left with her world turned.. .only to find out that this isn't the end of the story....more secrets. I felt this...more
This was a toss up between "it was okay" and "I liked it" for me. It was a quick book to listen to, but the narrator annoyed me. I'm trying not to factor her into my rating, but I don't know if I would have liked it better if I had read it vs. listening to it. Her story isn't far fetched and the conversations are fairly believable, which is what redeemed it as much as it did. Not everyone gets the opportunit...more
I read Be My Hero while on vacation at Gulf Shores and it was the perfect beach read. This is a story about infertility and could be very emotional for some. The story had some very real and touching conversations between Gemma and Tali. I am looking forward to Jerome's story in Dangerous to Know. He was your typical big brother. This isn't a bad story, but it's a rather bland romance novella. The hero broke the heroine's heart six years ago, and when they reunite he's got a daughter but she can't have kids. All the makings of an HEA. Thing is, this just isn't what I want to listen to right now. I like novellas, but there wasn't much spark to this, and the British narration was weird. There were awkward pauses ever few words that seemed affected.

Though this story is short, their romance doesn't come quickly. Sure, the feelings came on quick... actually the feelings never left, but both of them are carrying their own set of issues. They will either let these things make them or break them. You'll have to read it to find out which. Be My Hero by Nell Dixon was provided to me by the publisher for review. The opinions are my own.
