An interesting if unscientific tour of different police stations around the country, and different types of police work in the SAPS. I've come to a fresh understanding of the SAPS while reading this book, but at the same time I'd still rather cross the street to avoid going near them.

His characterisation of what it is that cops are actually there for had me thinking deeply, but I don't agree with all of his conclusions. He describes a muddle-through daily slog of real cops which has no relation
