The Squire, His Knight, and His Lady by Gerald Morris is the sequel to The Squire's Tale. Though not quite as good as its predecessor, I found it to be an excellent and adventurous story.
Squire Terence and Sir Gawain are back! Several years have passed since the first book and, with peace now in the land, life at Camelot is starting to get boring. When a magical Green Knight comes to Camelot with a challenge, to take a blow and return it in one year’s time from any knight of the More...

I have to say I was excited when I found out that this was a series of books. I really liked Terrence and Sir Gawain and wanted to see what would happen next. This story takes place a few years later. Terrence, who is now about 17, is still squire to Sir Gawain. He has no desire to become a knight and is getting bored hanging around Camelot. Lucky for Terrence the Green Knight appears and challenges Sir Gawain, so they are off on another quest and have more adventures along the way. They m

I didn't get quite as many laughs out of this as I did from The Squire's Tale. It was still well-written and well-told, and perhaps more grownuppy than The Squire's Tale. I was compelled to read it to make sure Gawain ended up with his Loathly Lady, but that aspect of Gawain's heroic details is much different than the only other version I know – married, but not together.

A delightful read! :) I do in fact love this series mostly because I am a total King Arthur nerd...one of my favorite tv series' is 'Merlin' :) I like these books because they're adventurous and fun, but I'm not really attached to the characters. Which also means that this series is not my absolute favorite, but really fun to read. But back to this book specifically, I love that Terrence finally found a girl :). I also loooooooooooove that he's all humble and doesn't really care about becoming a

A charming retelling of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight in which Sir Gawain's squire, the courageous and devoted Terence is the main character. I loved the romance between Terence and Lady Elaine which began with insults and slowly developed into affection. Overall,a thrilling adventure with humor and depth with a different take of the King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, Sir Lancelot triangle at the end.

My son got this book as a summer reading reward, but it was too complicated for him. How do you explain Queen Quienevere's emotional infidelity with Lancelot and so on? It wasn't indecent, but I decided to read it myself to see if the book was worth keeping. I enjoyed the story, once I started reading it for me, and not for him. We'll keep it; it will be good reading once he's older.

This was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. It's packed full of suspensful situations that the squire and knight come across on their quest. Although the writing does seem to jump around a lot, it doesn't take away from the story. I think young adults would really enjoy this book.

Gah! Of course this book WOULD be the 2nd of a series...and I wouldn't find out until AFTER finishing the book. I picked it up at a thirft store because it looked promising.
Ok, I'll simply say that this was an enjoyable and humorous read that takes place in Arthurian times....but I'll save further judgement and review until after I go back and read the first book and the rest of the series.

I thought the story line was really good (except for the affair between Guenivere and Lancelot was maddening - BAH!!), but think the descriptions of events and places could have been much more beautiful and exciting. The way it was written was quite anti-climatic.

Hilarious! I've really been enjoying this series by Gerald Morris. The story is still following a knight and all the legend and myth that go along with it, but with a sprinkling of humor. This is going on my list of books for my kiddos to read once they get to this reading level.

Again, a delightful tale--I love the little spots of humor. The author doesn't know how to write a face-to-face romance, but he's good with the long-distance kind. Other than that, a fun read.

The sequel, or more precisely, the book following The Squire's Tale. Again, a good read. I appreciate its fast pace and the interesting twist to the tale of King Arthur. It took a few hours to finish and I enjoyed every minute.

We enjoyed my son's reading of Morris' retelling of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight with a few other adventures tossed in for good measure. We look forward to others in the series.

Very cool way to portray the story of the Green Knight. That said, I rather liked this book and am looking forward to reading more of the series.

The adventure and the quests continue for Terance and Sir Gawain in this modern day retelling of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Another excellent tale- this one Gawain (and Terence’s) quest to fight the Green Knight; also touches on the tragedy of Arthur and Guinevere.

I liked this one better than The Squire's Tale, and I really liked the Author's Note at the end

The Squire, His Knight, and His Lady (The Squire's Tales) by Gerald Morris (1999)

I love Terence and Gawain. They're a great team. Read "The Squire's Tale" first to fully appreciate their bond. There's some good stuff here too about Arthur; we get to see more of him as a person and not just as a King. Good guy. These stories of Morris' nicely combine humour with weightier emotions and bring new life to the old Arthurian tales. Good fun.

This sequel to The Squire's Tale is just as amusing and full of adventure as the first. Morris retells the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight -- one of the oddest and most fascinating of the stories of King Arthur's knights.

One of my favorite series. Great take on the Arthurian legends. Easy for YAs to understand. Love the way that Lancelot is not portrayed as being the best thing since sliced bread. Gawain has much more personality and heart. I like that much of the romance involved is left to the reader's imagination; that makes it a read that anyone can enjoy.

These books are a very entertaining way to learn about the world of Camelot and King Arthur. Admittedly Gerald Morris uses characters and bits of plot as he wishes and to his own ends, but he does it skillfully and creates a fun story with a lot of humor. I also really, really like the characters of Terence and Eileen. On to book 3!

This sequel follows Terrence and Gawain on even more quests and adventures. The quests are in this world and the Other World, so once again they are thrown into a world of faeries, hags, and other creatures. This book has a lot of action and adventure. Overall, just as good as the first one.
