The idea of persuading - or seducing - Luke, Lord Kildare, into proposing to her was as absurd as it was undignified! But Ianthe Garland could see no other way to save her family home. I enjoyed this book a lot, even though it is a while since I read it this is what I remember
Ianthe Garland had a nasty step mother that married an equally nasty greedy man on the death of her father. Having ran through the family money they are now broke and plan that Ianthe seduce Luke Lord kildare and trick him into marrying her. They hold her grandmothers welfare over her head as blackmail so she agrees. Luke back from battle with a scar on his face has been dissapointed in love, as has Iant

A very enjoyable read.

Unlike many other Mills and Boon books this was actually fairly accurate and well written!

I was very impressed and have gone on to seek out and read several more Mallin books and have been impressed by all of them.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if she is still writing as I can't find anything released recently?
