UniquelyMoi ... So I Can Shine...

Please note the content warning at the end of my review.

This books is said to be “A dark exploration of sensual obsession, dominance and control. Submerge yourself in a dangerous, erotic journey of self-discovery between Master and slave.”

And to that I say, “you can say that again.”

Please keep in mind while reading my review that I’m a firm believer in the adage, ‘to each his own,’ so as far as I’m concerned, what people do, consensually, in the privacy of their own bedroom – figuratively speak
Extremely dark non-con

I think Claire Thompson may well be the queen of non-con erotica and this was one of her earlier ones, dug up and tidied up with her experienced hand and rereleased. It actually reminds me quite a lot of one of her later novels, Enslaved, but I thought this was better.

Mark is one sick and totally fucked up individual. He is completely fixated on Emily, a movie star, believes he is her no. 1 fan, believes himself in love with her and strongly believes that her future is with

I feel the need to review this book just because it did something really amazing. It took a genre I don't generally like--non-consensual BDSM-- and made me like it. It also made some of the things that used to turn me off, like hard pain and watersports, seem hot. I think it's because she gives some hints at the psychology behind it.

I can't say this book is realistic, and it is most CERTAINLY not for the easily offended or faint of heart BDSM-wise, but I will say that this author has some skill
It's a shame I have to go to the dirty cellar that is non-consent erotica to find D/s with actual degradation and S/M with real pain and beatings, but I guess I should be glad I can find it at all.

This one had the whole shebang: humiliation, forniphilia, piss play, whips, canes, suspension, piercing, branding, rape, sodomy, and a cage in a dark closet. The emotion didn't blow my hair back or anything, but the characterization and phychology behind the characters' actions and reactions was above
Shew...what a read!! A non stop read in fact. I probably shouldn't have done that. Eight hours later and I think I only just got my heart rate under control again.
This is a very dark hardcore read involving abduction, rape and torture. The scenes are continuous and very explicit.

At some point I should have put it down to breathe but I couldn't. I didn't want to leave it alone for a second. I thought if she can endure this then so can I. Then I find myself questioning the fact that I am actuall
This book is not for those with faint hearts or restrictive imagination. It is one of the wildest Thompson’s book I have ever read. The writings are clear yet aggressive, hardcore and graphically seducing. The intertwined lives of Mark and Emily transcends to a euphoric state of sexual and extreme obsessions; leading to an intensive power chase. The contents are dark and extreme;a wild ride with lasting after effects.
Why would it end like that??????

I am so mad! For a stand alone read this book has the biggest cliff hanger ending i have ever endured. Yes i know Emily's decision but what about what happens when she makes that call. What will be going through Mark's head?? Ugh now i will never know.

As a whole the story was alright. The saving grace is definitely the story line minus the sex and training. Sometimes there seemed to be too much sex. Too many punishments all at once. I found myself just rushing th

**Warning Extremely Dark Non-Con**

What the hell did I just read? I loved it, I hated it, and I wanted more of it.

As of late I've been exploring more of the darker non-con books and then I happened on to this one. Yeah, I wanted dark, and I wanted non-con and I got exactly that and more. This is a very hardcore dark non-con read that starts with abduction and is non-stop torture. All very explicit and aggressive. And one of the most graphically disturbing books I've read. And the best part? It wa
From the reviews I expected something darker and more twisted, but to be honest 50 shades was a lot harder to read than this one. Yes, Emily was abducted, but it didn't feel like she was a victim, it was more like she found out she was submissive and he trained her for it. And that she is more happy with him and living this type of life in comparison with the one she lived before she met him - the busy schedule, the media and having no life outside the movie set.

The writing style was very good

Though I enjoyed this book immensely I will be the first to state that it isn't for everyone. There were times that it was actually hard to continue reading. If you aren't familiar with the BDSM lifestyle you may not 'get it.'
As does the lifestyle--this book emotes raw feelings. There is a depth to the characters and the connection that they form that goes far beyond 'love.'
It took me an hour after reading this to wrap my brain around it and a day to do this review. The author succeeded in captu

You know its true what they say.... don't judge a book by its cover. I finished reading this at two in the morning. I was so engrossed in it. This book is very interesting. The thing I've noticed though with Claire Thompson's book titles, they don't make you think; they're very matter of fact and tell you exactly what the book is about. I never read the original version, The Stalker and I could find it but this one was pretty good. Its one of the better BDSM books I've read and doesn't seem fake ...more
I would absolutely love a part 2 to this book to see what became of Mark and Emily, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I could never write a review to do it justice.
4.5 crazy stars

I'm stunned. I've read many books that are similar in the darker side of BDSM. I think I have a twisted mind to actually enjoy these reads. What can I say, I like books that get me all twisted up.

Well, this book was all kinds of twisted. Its one of the most graphic I have ever read. So dark and disterbing, at times I wasn't sure I could continue. I was left jaw dropped and stunned plenty of times. A few times I found my heart racing and simply couldn't form a coherent thought. Th
This is not a fluffy non-con book. This story has some scenes that will make you cringe and some that will make your cringe while you think about using your vibrator. The abductor in this story is a serious sadist and his treatment of his captive made me fight between putting the book down and rushing to read what happened next.

The book shifts POV at the midway point giving a different look at the situation. I wasn't happy with the switch at first but I got used to it and discovered that I need
Yes this was a full on dark bdsm book. Definitely not for the faint hearted. I liked it, but I have to say the whole way through this book I was comparing it to Kitty Thomas's Comfort Food.
I like Comfort Food better, it seemed more...... elegantly written maybe. I can't put my finger on it. But Mark in this book didn't compare to Master. He seemed more immature or something, gah I just can't explain. Apart from that minor issue I did really enjoy this book, something about the dark psychological
A story of a Dom who abducts an actress he thinks he loves. Just like Shelley, I needed more character development. I wanted to know what made Mark the way he is. Also like my dear Shelley, an Epilogue would have been more satisfying. Would Emily go back to Mark? Would Mark change? Was it really love? I just don't know. Mark is one really screwed up Dom, and Emily really was a victim.

I did like the book, difficult as it was to read. Some of the scenes are so brutal and degrading, I often questi

Read in 2013....

50%.....DNf......don't remember exactly why -it's been almost a year-but from my statuse update it looks like it was too disturbing and disgusting for me to continue!

One of my statuse.....
"As i was expecting i didn't continue reading. but just to be fair i skipped to the last 10 pages to just see how it ends, and it's just confirmed my opinion that's it a fucked up story that i absolutely regret wasting time on it!!"

I did like this but I struggled with some parts being so...hard to put into words...degrading! Dark! It reminded me of Comfort Food a bit. Still, it was well written and my curiosity was piqued when I read a friends review so I had to read it!
I would like to say that this book had me really twisted... I mean it's written in a way that makes you want to keep reading, so I guess that means it should get a high rating. But the topic.... The topic it's really intense, dark and sooo confusing, it got me pretty emotional so thats what actually makes me want to rate low the book.

I couldn't even finish this book. Something about it was so ridiculous to me. And it just took the cake how things completely flipped at the end into something else. Because I couldn't finish, I found myself skipping to the end half way through.
Eek. That was dirty, raunchy, disgusting, and...kinda good?

Eesh. What's wrong with me?
I really liked this book and I don’t know exactly why.
Dark bdsm for real. Disturbing but well done.

very dark and well written. not a usual bdsm story this is torally 100% against emilys will and i felt a bit sick for her when she started t enjoy the torment she had to endure. i then thought what other choice did she have. I started to feel a bit sorry for mark, even though he is a twisted sicko of a stalker. the end was unexpected and left me with questions about whats happen next? ssooo frustrating I totally hate cliffe hangers....over all I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading d ...more

Read this a while back. I wouldn't say I truly "really liked it" but the book gets 4 stars for the author having the guts and chemical imbalance to publish this.

BEWARE! this isn't fluffy romance or even a typical BDSM book, but hardcore erotica. Do not read if you are squeamish or if you thought Fifty Shades was true BDSM erotica (it ain't). Not that this is true BDSM. This is pure humiliation and degradation. If you liked Captive in the Dark, well this is worse. If you liked Tender Mercies, you
Twisted. That's what I thought as I read this.

Emily is a famous, up-and-coming actress who is making movies and a name for herself. Unbeknownst to her, she's attracted the one thing no actress wants. A stalker. Mark's a person obsessed with her, convinced that the only person who deserves her undivided attention is him. The story opens with a clear view of his deep obsession, that frightening place of delusion you hear about in the news. This book becomes a tale of how a woman can be broken and

What can I say about this book that hasn't already been said?

Is it dark? Yeah.

Was I expecting it to be darker? Yeah. (I wonder if I have read one too many dark books.)

Where there some parts in the book that made me cringe? Most definitely

I think the main thing that has me thrown off by this book is my reaction to it. I feel like I should have been more taken-a-back by the nature of the book, or the words, or the deeds. But I found myself conflicted internally while r
