Wasn't impressed with the recipes, they seemed just short and bland (not necessarily food-wise, but direction-step wise), you could barely discern what the pictures really represented--too many out of focus blurred out backgrounds and some weird unidentifiable close ups..food pictures should look delicious, not artsy....Just really didn't feel this one at all..the only part I liked was chapter 3 where she described all sorts of spices and products, that was educational on the exact level I need ...more
I love Gillian on TV and purchased this book because I was curious to try her recipes. I've tried a half dozen so far, and they've all been a success! Yum!
Her recipes are so incredibly yummy that she made turning vegetarian again extremely easy. She's a bit of a wacko, and her t.v. show is insane, but her recipes are great! I recommend Shepherdess Pie.
I love this show on BBC so I got the cookbook. I make some of the recipes from here and I enjoy them.
