Silly and unbelievable thriller with a plot that feels incredibly poorly staged in Stockholm. Did not care for The Vault either, but was nagged into this one. That's not going to happen again...

I've read Don't tell a soul just before and I liked it, but I wasn't eager to start to read this book (La fille des souterrains (in French))

It was too different from the previous book and when the authors described the city and the streets, it's with names I can't even pronounce!

I want to read more mystery books, so I told myself I would read this one and finish it!
And... I did it!

I must say it wasn't the best book of the year, but it was good enough for me to continue reading it.

The story

A tense story about the very little known world in the tunnels under the streets of Stockholm where criminals, drug addicts and mentally troubled people hide from society and it's institutions and how they are seen and dealt with by society. Based on a true story the book triggers important questions and thoughts on the less fortunate people in an otherwise internationally generally highly regarded society.

I think my shelf mystery-crime-scary says it all. Their crime novels are some of the most brutal ones I have ever read - not because there are serial killers in masks wondering the streets but because most of the stuff they write about actually has happened.
This book centers around the unwanted children in our society - a bus load of Romanian street kids and the kids (and adults) living in the tunnel systems beneath Stockholm.

Not quite as well written as Box 21, though - some logical gaps, some

Donker.
