Recommends it for: Readers of fantasy and soft sci-fi.
"Though sci-fi is not a genre I typically read, I found Briggen to be an engaging blend of medieval fantasy and sci-fi--and hard to put down. At 476 pages, I thought it would take me a long time to read. It did not. As the story progressed, I found myself pulled in by empathetic characters and their impossible dilemma. Briggen, the warrior prince, reluctantly returns to the very place he had run from eight years previous. His home. Home has changed in his absence and, upon his return, he is chal ...more
Imaginative & engaging Fantasy-Sci-fi novel

Briggen is a tale of ancient meets futuristic. It is a blending of old-world sorcery, mysticism and traditions, with a world of characters and technology along the lines of the Star Trek universe. I happen to be a really big fan of both. This is a very unique and well-told story about a long-lost prince who forfeited his royal place, a lonely orphan piloting a freighter carrying a rag-tag group of survivors searching for a home, plagued by insecurit
Briggen, a medieval sci-fi fantasy masterpiece.
After eight years absence, and learning of his brother’s murder, the warrior prince, ‘Briggen’ returns to Neimus to be challenged for the throne. He faces political upheaval and an invasion from warring tribes wanting to desolate the planet. In addition, a sorceress plans to destroy the kingdom, seducing an ally and using unnatural powers to aid her schemes.

Like Briggen, Telana, an orphaned freighter pilot and ‘Quinhelm’ an old wizard, have telepath

I republished book one of this wonderful science fiction/fantasy after my publisher went out of business.

Same great story - and one dynamite cover, too!

Briggen was the right book at the right time for me as a reader. It really reminded me of the good old days of the space opera, when flying through space with neutron torpedoes blazing full blast and with a beautiful girl on your arm was presented to me monthly by several wonderful magazines. I do not mean to imply that it was dated, because, it wasn't. It was a wonderful tale of right versus wrong, with a great love story and a dragon. If you are a fan of this genre, it's a must read read.
I think I would give this Five Golden Piradors to be used to save the good and protect them.

I have been writing novels and screenplays for over forty years.
