The first time I saw Carsen Wheatley, I flipped him off.
The second time, I kneed him in the balls.
The third? I kissed him.

Why? Because Carsen needed it.

Angry and full of hate, Carsen is a lost soul, searching. Since the death of his mother, he’s cold and isolated, needing someone to fill the gap she left wide open, someone to kiss the anger from his soul.

That’s where I com

We are the Stars by Teagan Hunter is a YA/NA standalone romance told in dual point of view. I have never read anything by this author, and I completely forgot what this story was about, so I had no real expectations going into it. What I discovered was a heartwarming, humorous, and emotional tale with endearing characters and a sweet romance.

Though this is a novella, it felt very much like a full length novel to me. I never felt like I only got part of the story or that I didn’t have

I feel like I should begin this review with some explanation….or full disclosure. This was a very difficult book to rate. And it isn’t because upon receipt of the ARC from the PR company, I received an email indicating that “If you find that you can't rate this novel 3.5 stars or higher, please let us know prior to your posting date” because I don’t partake in that practice of delaying or withholding reviews if the book doesn’t rate a certain number of stars. It’s a borderline unethical

This book was fun to read but I still had a few issues with it. Firstly, both the main leads are twenty years old but they really felt like teenagers. Secondly, the romance felt a bit rushed, unrealistic and a bit meh but I did enjoyed their relationship though. I really want to give this a shot after reading the interesting synopsis that sounded very promising and also because it’s a short novella. It’s a good read but I think it could’ve bee

"There's something about it, about him. I like him even when he's angry and mean. I especially like him when he's nice--which he's only been once. At the end of it all. I like him."

Holy love/hate relationship, Batman!!!
Goodness me, I loved this book!!!

Elliot and Carsen start off on the completely wrong foot, but for some reason they can't seem to shake the attraction.
Carsen has a bad reputation, but Elliot can see past the clouds in his eyes. She sees the true man that he is...which almost scar

Finished in one day. Too addictive. I didn't know I was nearing the end until I did and then regretted it because I wanted to continue to be a fly on the wall. Elliot and Carsen - love them!!

Shattered. Swooning. Hopeful. Heartbroken. Then one by one, Teagan Hunter put all the pieces back together again. How do you review such a powerful book? Words don't seem to do it justice. Flailing and crying make me seem a little crazy. Shouting at the world to "read it now!" makes me seem a tad overdramatic. Eh, We Are the Stars is worth every reaction.

"You spell your name in a strange way,” I tell him. He quirks a brow at me, his eyes drifting to the basket sitting next to me. Giving me a

I love a good angsty book and this book was it! Elliot and Carsen are a perfect example of what a love/hate relationship looks like! And while most don’t like books with this much angst. I will say that I loved it! I loved the push and pull, it made it entertaining to read and it kept me reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen next! I loved their story, their love, their hate…. I mean in

O-M-G! I wrote this review super quick in the early morning hours the other day, so I am going to add a little bit to it. I was lying down to go to bed the other night and decided to read a few chapters to unwind (which in turn ended up being the entire book none the less) of We Are All Stars written by the extraordinary Teagan Hunter. The second I sta

This is a short read that packs quite the emotional punch. Elliot and Carsen start out like oil and water, but deep down there's a strong connection. He's broken, while she's strong and sassy, which makes for entertainment, and possibly leaky eyes. I find it's harder to write a review about a shorter book, as it's very easy to give away things, so I will just fan girl gush instead. Teagan Hunter is super talented writing stories that pull extreme emotions out of me, then her twists and turns com ...more

Another great book from Teagan Hunter. I have been a fan since her "Here's to.." series and I was so excited to hear about "We are the Stars". The characters were very likable and each had their own stories to tell and you just want to know more. Teagan walks the fine line of teasing and over sharing. You know enough about these characters to know that you want more. Even at the end of the book I still wanted to know more about Carsen and Elliot. I hope this isn't the end because there are so ma ...more

Elliot and Carsen meet at the local diner where she discovers that people have come to the conclusion that he killed his mother and his father took the fall for him. Elliot did not know anything about the case and was intrigued by Carsen enough to Google him and the case. Elliot can clearly see that Carsen is devastated in the aftermath of his mother's death and his father just looks angry. She concludes that the father did do it and that the public got their facts wrong. Her friend, Jace, had n ...more

We Are the Stars is actually my first book by Teagan Hunter, but if her others are anything like this, it's definitely not my last.

In a small town where gossip is easily spread, Elliot doesn't focus on it like everyone else. She bases her opinions of people on fact. On who they are to her. And how they treat other people. She's spunky and kind, and she has a no BS attitude that I quite enjoyed.

Carson is defensive and closed off, with good reason. He is the talk of the town, even t

I want to punch Carsen Wheatley in the face then kiss it. It's a complicated feeling really. He was such a jerk but under it all a broken jerk.

Carsen is the talk of the town and not in the best way. He was at the center of something tragic and it forever altered his life. He doesn't go anywhere except to his jobs and home. He harbors such animosity. His only companionship is his co workers and two friends affectionately dubbed "the boyfriends". He has given up on life all to together and is main

I went into reading this one with not really knowing much about it. I didn't read the blurb or anything. I saw the author's name and was like that sounds like a cool name and that's how I decided to pick up the book to read it. I really liked this one. I would say this one is more of YA read.

Elliot is spending the summer at home and working at a bowling alley. Even though she lives in a small town, her family isn't in to the town gossip. Elliot is twenty sometimes I thought she acte

Everyone...I'd like you to meet...Teagan Hunter!!

This is not the first book that I have read from Teagan, just the most recent, and definitely not the last. Her writing has this natural flow to it, that at times, I almost feel like I am watching a sitcom or a continued story instead of reading a book.
This novella sucked me right in, made me a part of it, and kept me reading(I’d like to say in one sitting, but the kids needed the iPad for school) until the book was completed that

You know that scene in the movie Elf where Buddy rushes into the conference room twirling around and screaming, “I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it!”? Well, that’s basically how I’m feeling about Teagan Hunter after finishing We Are the Stars which was nothing short of new adult perfection. The dialogue was smart and witty; the emotion was authentic; and investing in the characters was effortless.

While reading, I couldn’t stop thinking about how We Are the Stars reminded me

This story is a lot tamer than my normal reads but one thing I can tell you is that I am so glad that I picked it up. The author did a great job with the story and you could feel the pain that they go through. I'm pretty sure I was able to hit on most of my emotions while reading this story.

This book is about poor Carsen who hasn't been given an easy hand at life. He is angry, cold towards most and isolates himself from everyone. Rumors fly around town about the death of Carsen's mom and most a

I'm not shore how I fell about this one it was a roller coaster of emotions it kept me pretty interested but it felt like something was missing . This was a coming of age book as the blurb says its YA/NA I normally don't read YA but it was a nice change of pace then what I'm used to . Elliott and Carsen had a strong connection they had great chemistry and banter . The secondary characters were likable I hoe that they get their own book .

Wow! This book was so good!

This was the first book I've read by Teagan Hunter and it definitely will not be the last! I came across this book when my favorite blog posted the synopsis and said that the first few lines hooked them. Of course, I had to check it out and.... HOOKED! I 1-cliked it immediately!
I loved Elliott and her sarcastic personality and her take-no-crap attitude. Her family is equally awesome! This story-line also serves to remind everyone to not believe everything you hear and

We Are The Stars is a good YA/NA story that teaches the lesson that you can't believe everything you hear or read about someone. I easily read in on a weekend afternoon, in between parenting and adulting.

I love that Elliot calls Carsen "Scowly Face" -- he just needs someone to believe in him and be his friend. Despite Carsen's dark side, their relationship sweetly unfolds as she brings him out of his shell and he shares with her the truth behind all the rumors about him.

I also liked that both

This book gave me all the feels, it was sweet, intense, funny and heartbreaking. Elliot was an awesome heroine, she loved helping others and being kind to people. She didn't judge people off of rumors or hearsay. Caden was a sad misunderstood guy and the whole time I just wanted to see them both happy. I'm not a fan of Jase although I would like to hear his story because I think it would be a good one. I'm madly in love with the boyfriends as well as Elliot's parents and brother Fish. I need to start off this review by saying that this quickly became my favourite book this author has written so far.

This book really shows how this author and her writing has grown. I cannot explain it or point out specifically what it is that made this story extra special to me, but it has now a permanent and special spot in my heart.

Elliot and Carsen are two hilarious characters, their banter is so on point, their connection is off the charts, and their interactions with one another and the

It's been awhile since I've read a really good YA/NA story. Teagan Hunter nailed this emotionally captivating story.

What I love most is the witty banter between Elliott and Carson and that even though everyone in town judges by the cover of their book , they do not.

I wanted to know more about the secondary characters and hope they have their own stories in the future.
I recommend this epic, emotionally charged book to you all. You don't want to miss it.

You know, originally I was not “in love” with this book. It grew on me. Now, I can’t stop thinking of all the other ones I would love to see. I would love to see a book with Jase’s story, but I would also love to see a sequel to this one focusing on Carsen and Elliot. I could also see one focusing on Fish. I loved Teagan Hunter’s writing style. I also love how the title of the book fit with an important aspect of the book. This book was a beautifully told story. I loved the different meanings behind the story and the life lessons. Never listen to ideal gossip or believe what other people say, find out the facts for yourself. Elliott is a remarkable girl and her family is hilarious. Carsen is judged, mistreated and the black sheep. Elliott sees him differently and helps befriends him. This story of friendship, love and truth is wonderfully told. I just wish there was more. Epilogue would of been perfect.

Carsen has had a hard life, and slowly Elliot unravels the layers and the real Carsen shines through. Both of these characters are young and looking for some direction in their lives. This is a quick read as it is a novella; which is a rollercoaster of emotions, witty, good banter, fun, hope, second chances, and love.
This author never disappoints with her work, and this one was no different. The story flows seamlessly, and I recommend this authors work for all romance readers.

It's amazing how Teagan's writing has improved, again!
The storyline is flawless and fluid. I was immersed in the story as if I was actually part of the book.
Elliott is such a strong, honest character you can not help but love her. Her family, Carsen, his friends.... all lovable and easy. Of course, a little twist here and there but a good lesson on life.
At the end of the day, everything happens for a reason.
The perfect ending left me feeling happy, positive and light.

This book was beautifully written. This is also my first book by Teagan. Although this was shorter read, you still get all the emotions.
Elliot and Jason (Jase) are best friends for years. Elliot has a mishap with Carsen and end up starting off on the wrong foot. There are rumors around town about Carsen and everyone believes them. Elliot looks passed the rumors and tries to get to know Carsen for who he really is.

How can you not love Carson and Elliot..
it's not Teagan's Here's to series but it's another you don't want to miss!
It's humourous, a little angsty and dark in places. There's a mix of emotions throughout the book
It does feel a little cut short but I understand why she left it there

Carsen and Elliot's interactions had me lol-ing most of the time, but my heart did die a little in certain areas. You'll see why when you read it. There are no excuses not to pick up this book.
