This is supposed to be a young adult book about Mumbet but most of the information is about Massachusetts and the Ashley/Sedgwick families. Early in the text it states that there are no actual records to back up the information about her life so there are really no details to give, especially since she did not write anything herself. I like history but even I found this book to be very dry and could not imagine any young person being able to finish it. I would really give it ZERO stars!

Very informative and rich with the history of African American slavery. It gave an amazing perspective from the "black" point of view.
