Interesting to see Gir's art looking a little more raw and unsure here. After reading so many of his later Sci Fi and Blueberry books, I'm used to seeing only the peerless professional.

These books were drawn at the same time as the 'Lieutenant Blueberry' series and were meant to provide a background for the widely popular character. We are given an explanation for his unusual name (an unsurprising explanation given that modern westerns take their cue from Yojimbo) and shown the source of his dis

The second album in the Young Blueberry series collects chapters four through six of Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud's original story.

Picking up where the first album, Blueberry's Secret left off, with Blueberry being trapped behind enemy lines. This is, and his being hunted by his old acquaintance Norton (whom he ran into in the last album), is basically at the heart of the first two chapters, "Death Ride" and "Man Hunt".
