I enjoy Chopra's books. As a western trained medical doctor (that specialized in endocrinology) I like his take on eastern & western philosophy. This book defines the mind/body/spirit connection and that "you are what you think".... Biostat 29 baby!!!

Even though I had heard of Deepak Chopra before and have listened to some of his interviews on TV, I had never read anything written by him before. This book “Ageless Body, Timeless Mind” caught my attention and I am really glad of reading this book. This is slightly a different type of self-help book where he is specifically dealing with the concept of aging of human body and how we can have better control over it.

He has used research results from ...more

Some people seem to rave about Deepak Chopra. I'm not sure why perhaps I was spoilt by Andrew Weil's book Healthy Aging.

Chopra has much similar to say as Weil and somehow need desperately a good book editor to help him say it. Perhaps the problem is everything has to link to his idea of quantum where he is drawing on quantum physics to bolster his case. "... the mind influences every cell in the body, human aging is fluid and changeable; it can speed up, slow down, stop for a ti...more

What a treasure of a book! Chopra is a wise man of our times and presents his thoughts/ideas in such a practical way. It was timely to read this book as John and I are now in the older generation. He spells out so clearly the difference between growing older and staying youthful in mind, heart and spirit. He reminds us that yes, the years go on but disease is what makes us older and much disease is preventable. He also reminds us that all of our life experiences are stored in our cells and t...more

I started reading this book hoping this one will be a little bit better than his other books. I cannot say that I did not pick up few hints from this book, but it was utterly disappointing 99% of the time. However, it made a long road trip quite entertaining. First of all, advices he gives are ridiculously narcissitic. To go through the routine he suggested, one must be wealthy enough to support two maids or have a slave-like wife who does nothing but her husbands biddings. I doubt any husband w...more

Deepak Chopra offers us nothing new in this book. He simply reinforces practical ideals for living a long, healthy life, body and soul. Great book to read and discuss.

I normally don't put books from my program on goodreads but this one has appeal to a larger audience. I enjoyed the insight and agree with a number of things that are stated. I also think it is a reminder of how much our thought process and view has to do with how we feel and how we see aging. The joy of this book was unfortuantely sucked out by working on endless progress tests and essays but I still have a good experience from it. Also there are practice exercises within the book; some are vis...more

Fascinating and encouraging. It shakes up the ideas of inevitable decline and disability. He challenges us to examine our current beliefs about our physical and mental being and offers evidence of our own ability to change our thinking, change our actions and ultimately improve our quality of life at any age.

Chopra expounds on quantum physics and how it is believed to influence aging. One thought-provoking idea: part of the reason we age as we do is because we are watching others age. Expectations of what age brings helps in fact to manifest those very things.

This book is great. I learned that you can basically live for ever because the cells in your body regenerate. After 7 years all of the cells in your body are brand new, even your bones and teeth. So take care of yourself and live a long and happy life-

A great book to realize the connection between stress - diseases - aging. But not convinced about the repeated references and connection to quantum physics. Nevertheless a good read..

I wasn't too impressed by this one, esp. with its New Age philosophy. I think John Robbins' book _Healthy at 100_ is a much better book on healthy living and healthy aging.

Living a healthy life is definitely a state of mind; Dr. Chopra eloquently spells out the key things to look for and to live by. This book is spell bounding! I read it in two days

There are few books you cannot say I have finish on so and so date. You read them over and over again. Being a doctor himself Dr.Chopra explains everything very clearly.

I have enjoyed reading Deepak Chopra books. This is my latest one.

This was a hard book for me to get into: the discussion about quantum mechanics and its application to the human body wasn't something I could swallow, but there again, I'm neither a doctor nor a physicist. What *was* helpful to me was the discussion about what one can do to age more gracefully (both mentally and physically) and to accept that death is both inevitable and also a normal part of the life cycle. Chopra's writing was fluid and compassionate about the topic.

Time is Subjective. This was his first book which brought him into the Limelight as a "new age" (hate that term), alternative (hate that term too) Scientist/M.D. bridging the gap between Spirit and Science, Mind and Biology. It's one of many i have enjoyed by this Guy. He's very eloquent on topics such as this. "The Way of the Wizard", "7 Spiritual Laws of Success" and "Book of Secrets" were also really good.

Interesting. Deepak pulls together a lot of information (medical, holistic, psychological, etc.) regarding the lengthily of life all dressed with in spiritual descriptions. I didn't learn much more then I already knew and didn't feel the book was that compelling. I really enjoyed listening to a lecture he gave but was a bit disappointed with what was delivered in this work as I guess I just expected a bit more.

Another wonderful book by Deepak Chopra. As always, I will have to read a few more times to really have the material sink in. Usually the first time is the Ah-Ha! moments, and then the second or third time around the real work begins. :)

Ok i know a lot of people think he's all WOO WOO. But i find him very down to Earth and comforting. You learn a lot from this book. I think everyone should explore his books and take what you want from them. You certainly don't have to agree with everything he says to still come away from some very good information.

Chopra never fails to impress with his command of information, thoughtful insight, and articulate writing. This book is highly provacative, not just in terms of how to live longer, but more broadly in terms of the power our minds have over our bodies. We will now be watching Chopra keenly to see if he will outlast himself.
