One of my fondest childhood memories is devouring this book cover to cover every Saturday. And sometimes, just to shake things up, I'd listen to the audio cassette. I can honestly attribute my love for scripture to this book. I wish they'd bring the old version back. The new one just doesn't have the pull for me that the original one had.
Five-stars for the art, one-star for the text. This one is all narrative, so your kiddos will get all the ultra violence of the Book of Mormon with little of its redemptive theological sermons and explications.
If you must, go with the more recent BoM Stories. The art is dreadful, but at least it privileges theology over narrative.

I don't think I would have ever found a true love of the Book of Mormon if it wasn't for the Child's version. Even now the illustrations are fond memories often remembered.

We love this book. This book helps my young children be able to see and visualize the stories from the BOM.
Pictures allow the kids to the tell YOU the story even before they can read.
loved this book as a child.
I loved this!
The little boys love the pictures in here, and actually get excited to read their scriptures. I'm sure someday they will enjoy the stories too.
Paisley loves reading it and I enjoy its simplicity, but really notice the wicked and gore when reading it aloud to her.
Wonderful for children. Be sensitive in reading the war stories.
Great book to begin reading the Book or Mormon.
This is great for kids and anyone.
