A Cedar Cove Christmas is a tender story about a typical romance gone array. Mary Jo falls in love and gets pregnant with the wicked David Rhodes who left the residents of Cedar Cove with a bad taste in their mouths for his scandalous behavior. Mary Jo’s brothers vows to go to Cedar Cove to find David Rhodes and make him do right by their sister. Not wanting to disrupt David Rhodes and his family’s holiday by warning them of her brothers intention, she travels to Cedar Cove alone to ward of...more

I got this book for my birthday (in October), and "saved" it to read during the holiday season. I was not disappointed! I have liked all of the Cedar Cove books that I've read, and this one picks up after book 8 and has a wonderful Christmas theme.
MaryJo Wyse is pregnant and looking for the baby's father in Cedar Cove. Oddly enough, she has three brothers (the Wyse men) and ends up taking refuge in a barn that happens to be housing animals for the local church's live nati...more

This is a fun and quick read. Sort of the Christmas story for the modern day.

Every year I look forward to reading a few Christmas themed books. Debbie Macomber is not an author I read (I only tend to read her Christmas books). A Cedar Cove Christmas this years book was a disappointment. It was just so predictable, that you could have just read the dust jacket and figured out the story.

'A Cedar Cove Christmas by Debbie Macomber
This newest yuletide treat from the queen of Christmas charm is a treasure. When Mary Jo Wyse heads to Cedar Cove by foot ferry to track down the father of her soon-to-be born baby on Christmas Eve, she finds the entire townsfolk waiting eagerly to help, even to young paramedic Mack McAfee. I have read all of the cedar cove books (8 so far), so i had to read this christmas one that went with the series.
I like it, but not as much as the regular books in the series.
Marjo jo (a new character) is 24 & pregnant. It turns out the father is David Rhodes (a fraud... even tried to cheat his own father & stepmother). Mary jo goes to cedar cove to look for David, but as she finds out... he is not there... he lied to her yet again.
Marjo is comforted by Gra...more

Get in the holiday mood by reading A Cedar Cove Christmas by author Debbie Macomber. Last Sunday I curled up with a mug of coffee, a blanket and this delightful Christmas story.
When pregnant Marry Jo Wyse arrives in the small town of Ceder Cove searching for her baby’s father, she finds there’s no room at the local inn…
But in the true holiday spirit Grace Harding opens up her apartment, which is over her stables (currently sheltering the animals of the nativity pageant), ...more

The back of the dust cover says, "What would the holidays be without a new Christmas story from Debbie Macomber?" For the past number of years I, too, have tossed in a Macomber book for holiday reading. Easy, positive reading. Always a pleasure and a joy. This season's is a modern spin on elements from the original Christmas story. I found myself rather happily amused at Macomber's creativity as she worked in the elements, i.e. fireworks to lead the Wyse men to the baby.

This story was okay. It was sort of corny how the author tried to fit the characters with the Nativity, like the heroine having three brothers with the last name of Wyse. Get it...three Wyse men? Sheesh. But it was a light read and the theme was warm and fuzzy. So if you like hot cocoa by the fire type books, this is one of them. Probably the best part was the scene where she has her baby. And the ending was kinda nice. But there was no satisfied SIGH at the end for me.

This book was basically a modern retelling of the birth of Jesus Christ. I didn't feel that it was totally appropriate--the father of the baby was a liar, womanizer, etc. and since so many other characters were compared to those at the Nativity, I didn't feel it was appropriate to compare someone like that to God. And the main character's name? Mary Josephine. Not my most favorite book.....

A light family drama that requires little y=thought and is quickly read. The story is about a modern day Mary, pregnant on Christmas Eve who is offered the barn apartment of a stranger only to go into labor 2 weeks early and to deliver her baby in "the stable". It is A little predictable but a good story.

I'll admit it - I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas fiction, but I haven't really branched out much from there, other than her Blossom Street books.
This new holiday novel did not disappoint me, and even though it is predictable, it still held my interest right down to the last page. Macomber's true art lies in her ability to create quirky and loveable characters, and it ws these characters that had me turning pages well into the night for lack of wanting to put the book down. The book was the typical Cedar Cove "fluff", though it seemed a bit weaker than the other books. I found all the references to the "Christmas Story" fun and clever and I enjoy these books for a quick, easy, simple and enjoyable read. It was just right for the holiday season.

Apparently this is maybe the tenth in a series which I had never heard of. Didn't matter. This was a nice little trite trifle which was exactly what I was in the mood for.
As a sidenote, I've since picked up a few earlier books in the series and they're more 'romance' than this book was.

This was an okay book about a single pregnant young woman. She travels to Cedar Cove on Christmas eve in search of the father of her child. She does not find him but finds a loving community. Her child being born on Christmas eve in a barn was too contrived for me.

One of my favorite holiday books! I love the fact the it takes me to Cedar Cove once again with characters I enjoy so much. It makes you think about the reason for the season and the importance of family and the folks you consider family even if they can't claim it by blood.

This was a light feel good Christmas story about a young lady who ends up in a bit of trouble on Christmas Eve and the family who welcomes her into thier lives. An easy quick read that I saw on the rental shelf at the library and read in a few days.

Mother-to-be Mary Jo Wyse arrives in Cedar Cove on Christmas Eve looking for the father of her baby. When she goes in labor unexpectedly, the nativity story happens all over again. Vintage Macomber with a quick, sweet, clean Christmas romance.

Not one of her best....she usually has more than one story going on ....but this one just dwelled on the the poor girl who was going to have the baby. I felt that if I didn't read this one I would miss something in the continuing woes of Cedar Grove.
