I read this book in Russian, listened to the audio book, but most of all enjoyed the Movie Жестокий Романс with Никита Михалков and Лариса Гузеева.

Russian classic

Read the book and watched the movie "Cruel romance" (Жестокий Романс). Both are wonderful.
Loved the character of Mrs. Ogudalova the most.
